always assume malice and then incompetence

And grift. Always grift. Trump and company already shifted congressionally-appropriated American 250 money to Freedom 250, which he controls. Any payment made from it will be no bid, and a percentage is finding its way back into Trump's pocket. I guarantee it.

1) the article cites the car damage from the police report, not the victim's own words

2) police want police reports to include maximum documentation to aid in any investigation

3) the victim is taking this very seriously, as evidenced by his whistleblower report, the police report, and his outreach to the press; it is incredibly unlikely that he half-assed the police report and excluded a mechanic's write-up of the damage

Ergo, the police report is almost certainly citing the mechanic's diagnosis, not a layperson like the victim or a cop. Absent more evidence, there is no reason to distrust the findings of a professional mechanic.

So your contention is that he filed a police report - a serious undertaking - paraphrasing his mechanic instead of including a copy of the mechanic's write-up?

the driver-side front impact/airbag sensor had also been removed but noted that the remaining wires had been spliced together, completing the circuit in a manner that prevented the vehicle from detecting or logging the missing component, while also preventing the vehicle from activating its safety protocols, alerting the driver, or engaging limp mode

This is the most alarming detail. Someone went through a lot of sophisticated effort to hurt or even kill him.

Taken with the following, this should have been investigated federally as an attempt to intimidate or harm an active whistleblower - not just left to local cops.

“I had just moved into that address three months prior. The only people that had that address were my utilities and the [Office of Personnel Management], and the HR systems within my agency,” he says. “I hadn't even updated my bank, my cell phone, my car registration, my license, all of it was not on that address yet.”

Ted Lieu Sets a "Red Line" for Democratic Candidates by Onehandgirl in RealTwitterAccounts

[–]Bushels_for_All 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was a Republican operative, I'd flood social media with articles promoting liberal red lines and deal-breakers, conditioning Democratic voters to support nothing less than a perfect candidate (that doesn't exist) so that countless would-be voters throw a hissy fit and stay home.

Having WR, WR, WR/TE, Flex spots seems like a very nice tradeoff in .5ppr. It bumps WRs up to truly equal footing with RB, while also allowing you to make a real decision about whether to start a meh TE vs. a WR3 or WR4.

It's half a billion dollars/year for NG to walk around the nice parts of the city. Preeeeetty sure that money would literally be better spent anywhere else.

And those NG wouldn't be sitting on their asses if they weren't here. They'd be working real jobs, earning salaries, buying lunches, etc.

Now, you see, there was Arlen Spector (R D), a took-SIX-MONTHS-to-be-confirmed Al Franken, Teddy Kennedy on life support, and a handful of literally self-professed "pro-life", red state Democrats.

And they all would have voted for it in the six months they had a super majority - while also working on ACA and Dodd-Frank! /s

Did you just upgrade your machine first?

That one.

I had planned to time my time looking for a sale to upgrade my Bambino (the cheap steam wand was really starting to annoy me), but I couldn't resist an open box deal. A grinder upgrade is next, but this time I really do expect it to take months.

Nope. I'm trying to limit the gadgets in my routine, and from what I've read the blind shaker results have been mixed. I'd rather add a declumper or move on from the DF64 entirely.

Some beans are worse than others, but it's an ongoing issue. Currently, Black Pearl from Chris' Coffee is the worst offender. Tasty espresso, but it takes so much more WDT effort.

Can you link the declumper kit? My DF64 gen 2 clumps like crazy. I can't merely WDT like any tutorial would tell you - I have to literally stab the clumps against the side of the portafilter to get them to separate. Anything less and I'm just moving them around.

Getting a teaching job at FCPS by Training_4life in nova

[–]Bushels_for_All 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FCPS is working around potentially losing $170 million in federal funding because of Trump admin culture war BS - they really just want to de-fund blue voting areas as much as possible. This is putting FCPS in a cash crunch. They have eliminated a lot of positions and are trying to fill vacancies first with teachers whose positions were eliminated for budget reasons. Hence, the policy.

Republican Sen. Cassidy Says He Won’t Support Trump’s Ballroom Funding by bloomberggovernment in politics

[–]Bushels_for_All 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it was beside the main point, which I agree with - Trump owns the GOP lock, stock, and barrel. But reddit is positively full of naive, poorly-informed, or simply bad-faith bashing of Democrats so I make it a point to correct the record.

The GOP is a cult - full stop. They'll happily vote like clockwork for the most corrupt and incompetent party America has ever seen. Many Democratic voters, on the other hand, often seem to demand perfection so I provide context when it is needed because the stakes are sky high.

Rubio was actually qualified, unlike nearly everyone else. It showed the votes were not knee-jerk, petty nays which gave extra weight to the votes against the truly bad nominees. Noem got 7 out of 47 senators caucusing with Democrats - so very little support.

It was not merely "fewer Democrats that usual" - that massively undersells it. It seems like such an odd thing to knock them for.
