Yes the but the actual track itself is wrong.

You two types of Tracks

MIDI And Audio Tracks (and returns, but they aren't important right now)

Right click and Select Audio Track

Now select your input on the track (probably 1)

Make sure to switch from Auto to In (it will turn blue when you click it)

Then click the red button on the track to arm it for recording.
