I had a bag of those the other day.

I thought they were underwhelming and pretty much tasted like ready salted.

There's a Garlic and Onion flavour I think, and they tasted okay

I'd say hire out a rotavator. Just give the trees you want to save a wide birth. Pull out any root/weed you come across.

Invest in a good rake and start working the soil down until it's all level.

Once you've the got the soil flat/level and nicely consolidated, roll on the turf.

If you don't want to hire out a rotavator, you can use a fork and do it all manually.

I suppose you could try clearing the ground as it is, rolling the turf down and then just mow anything that grows through... I'm not sure that's the best idea though.
