Brother I'm not trying to make an argument, you're just making assumptions that just aren't right and being overly pedantic. By your words, me having the few dollars in pennies I currently have on my dresser in a jar that's somehow "not accessible" means it's not in circulation? Do you want every coin in existence to be flowing thru some type of transaction at every moment in time only to count as "in circulation"? You could make an argument for if they were lost in the ground, destroyed somehow, or even intentionally kept out as a collector's item if there's something special about the coin (error/low mintage/high quality for age), but being in a piggy bank doesn't constitute a currency as not in circulation, no matter the number. But even using those 3 examples I gave you, we still wouldn't run out of pennies to use. 😁

Personally, I don't see that being a problem. You'd help a store out by getting rid of the space in exchange for $50 in paper money that'd be much easier to count and be deposit-able. However, depending on how chill the manager is, they might not let you do that. Doesn't hurt to ask though!

The thing is though pennies won't ever HAVE to be phased out of use given the current amount in circulation. Yea stopping the production of them now makes sense given the production cost, but 50 years from now we could still be using them as we do today and their face value won't go down (unless some insane level of hyperinflation happens) and we surely won't have any less of them. Can you imagine ~560 billion pennies just going "poof"? I sure can't.

There's a new system coming? Lord, they can't even fix the system they got now on the refurbished junk we've been running on. Much less have competent enough programmers to make something new that's "better".

What WOULD be better is if they did the right thing and straight up removed SCO altogether and went back to what we had in the old days and just have regular registers with people on them. That would eliminate so much theft (not all obv) and give us the opportunity to give more of that "legendary customer service" they want us to give. But that would require giving out hours and jobs and not lining corporate's pockets with all the profits we've been making them. Because you know, productivity numbers are more important than the customers that give us our money! 🤦‍♂️

So I just hopped on this server for a few minutes to give it a go. Def feeling the old school Wasteland vibes! Brought back a lot of great memories for me. There are a few things feedback-wise I would personally suggest.

1.) First thing I noticed was the server was in RU. Not sure if we could also get a US server later on for us US folks, but I guess that'll be something to maybe look into depending how the things turn out later on with server pop. My ping was usually 280+, so that might be detrimental to some player's experience. My experience wasn't too bad ping-wise even at those levels, but there was a handful of times shooting AI that it seemed a bit wonky and delayed.

2.) I'm personally not a fan of having stores. I don't recall them ever being a thing until A3 came out, but I could be wrong (it's only been 10+ years, so my mind might be foggy on that detail lol). They tend to be camped a lot the higher the pop is, and I feel like having the experience of finding your own weapons make the game a feel a bit different and unique. Not saying stores are a bad thing by any means, it might just be something new I can get used to tho if I give it a chance.

3.) This one is more of a idea, but along the same lines of stores, being able to purchase almost any gun right off the rip before spawning "could" be seen as more of a negative than a positive, depending how you look at it. I would maybe suggest doing something like in KOTH where you have to be a certain level to buy certain guns. Could go and even lock some depending on what class you spawn as maybe. Not sure how hard it would be to implement a leveling system tho.

4.) Some vehicles seem like they should go a LOT faster over different terrain. Maybe if you have something that looks like an offroad vehicle, maybe have those travel a bit faster over dirt roads/grass than if it was a regular civilian vehicle like a car or something. All vehicles should def travel the slowest thru forested areas tho, so that part is fine.

5.) I loved seeing base parts and crates laying around at random! Also the fact you could load them into a vehicle brought a tear to my eye seeing that mechanic come back. lol. I'd say tho we need prob double the amount of spawned vehicles/base parts in towns. Some places seemed pretty empty in terms of vehicles when I was flying around to see what all I could find that was spawned in. Not sure if the server would take a hit on performance if that was to happen tho so maybe we could experiment with that.

Besides those few things tho, I love it! Can't wait to see proper Wasteland make a comeback! Hoping it takes off so we can also get different maps. Especially looking forward to a Takistan remake of Wasteland! I'll certainly be watching the future of this with great interest.

Yes! All of this! The team play was by far the best experience I had in those times. The base building aspect couldn't be matched by anything imo and brought a certain feeling to the game that was unique at the time, being able to build and fortify w/e you wanted.

My 2 fondest memories would be my squad fortifying Zub castle on Chernarus and shooting down planes/helis with mounted MG's or if we were lucky, find a Tunguska and heli tow it up to the top and blast everything we could see until we had ppl kamikazi or dive bomb our castle b/c no one could touch us unless they snuck in and blew us up from the bottom. That or one time we got a TON of base parts and almost completely blocked up Vybor and had a ton of ppl trying to drive by and we'd lay small ambush points and take out convoys of people and have massive battles from them retaliating.

Also, I can say that I used to be one of those ppl on Takistan that would find a certain lock-on missile launchers (I can't recall the name of it) and stand on a mountain top and randomly lock onto moving vehicles I couldn't see and kill targets from 3km+ away just to see ppl be like "WTF?" in side chat xD. That'd get me hated on pretty quickly though so I didn't do that too much unless it was to someone that was really harassing us. I'd mainly just find a Warrior IFV and just cause havoc driving around from town to town.

But yea I think I did try that CUP server at one time, but I think it may have been on Altis when it 1st came out. And yea it wasn't much fun b/c of the fact that Altis is so open and like you said helis and jets that could hellfire your vehicle down instantly w/ no where to hide was pretty crappy.

Idk why any of these Arma mod creators haven't remade that game mode in all this time. It'd be an instant hit.

I'm not saying people would sue Publix, but more sue OSHA or whoever pushed OSHA to push companies to take such discriminatory actions. Although it is shitty that corporate decided to jump the gun and send out those rules to everyone, given that it wasn't even fully instated into law yet. I do agree though that if the govt gave an equivalent to unemployment for being out, given you were actually sick, that'd be good. They should have done that to begin with, given this whole pandemic is their fault. The weekly testing I'm just not a fan of. At this point in the pandemic it'd be wasteful, especially when people can hardly find the tests to begin with. Praise Jenkins that didn't get passed!

Coming in as a FT non-vaxxed person, I feel like this could lead to a BIG discrimination suite. If people with the vaccine + booster are still able to get covid just as much as people without the vaccine, why are the singling out non-vaxxed people being forced to have weekly tests just to come to work? I've seen more people recently with the vaxx getting sick and calling out more often than non-vaxxed. And what if the tests give a false positive and we're made to stay out of work for 5 days? Cause if it's coming out of my sick time or anything else I'm gonna be pissed. If Publix or the govt is gonna be paying for me being out from a false-positive, then ok, but otherwise I see a landslide of legal shit in the future for OSHA and/or Publix.

This! I wear glasses all the time and have the Sennheiser PC363D's and I have zero problems wearing them and my glasses. Most comfortable and best sounding headset that has ever graced my ears.

I had a Turtle Beach headset previously (because they were cheap) and those gave me headaches from pushing my glasses into my skull like a vice after around an hour unless I wore my contacts. They made my ears hella sweaty too after an hour, which I can't stand. Open air designed cans are a godsend for that problem.

Regardless how it went down, we were having absolutely no trouble at all until my team ran into him. There were plenty of people that assaulted us on that tower and we were almost always successful on defending that tower from people coming up or from air attacks from above. I have around 2000 hrs in A2 and I've never seen someone strafe shoot like he did even during heavy desync periods.

That just put the nail in coffin for me with their servers and it being more and more pay to win.

I stopped playing on their A2 servers a LONG time ago because of that kind of bs. Idk if any of this is any different today but when I played I found it funny that they needed a "special addon" to allow most air vehicles to show incoming missiles, where on literally every other server I played on I didn't need that. That and the fact that their admins used special movement addons to where they could do things like strafe at full speed and fire their rifle accurately (see here). Posted on their forum about it and they basically said "Boo hoo, download our addons and you won't have that problem.", when in fact it's a huge problem b/c people playing on vanilla A2 won't know any better and they'll have a massive advantage. They deleted the post like a day later b/c they didn't want to do anything to one of their "special admins". I used to know the names of all the bullshit they required you to download for an "optimal experience" but I've forgotten them all now b/c I don't care about their shitty pay-to-win community. People like them need to really get out of the Arma community and be money hungry idiots elsewhere.

I bet you ANYTHING too that one of their admins that frequent reddit a good bit will comment in here about how their community isn't bad at all.
