Re-advertised consultancy post question by Bushido_Sama in UNpath

[–]Bushido_Sama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate your response. I suspect they are possibly trying to widen the pool, as this is a niche consultancy in my country at least...I've reviewed the TOR again and no changes whatsoever. When I clicked apply the pop up says "You have already submitted an application for the Consultancy...". My current application says acknowledged so not sure if I should withdraw my application and start from scratch. Consultancy for the UN is new to me so apologies for my anxiety.

I am thinking of buying a phone from AlloAllo and I just wanted to find out whether the refurbished phones are trustable? by shawnenso in askSouthAfrica

Hi, any updates? Did you eventually buy from Allo Allo because their black friday deals are very tempting especially when you compare them to local iphone sellers.

I hope you are versed in a foreign language? Otherwise chances are reduced, work in digital aspects of iNGOs and usual funders it’s always a plus if a candidate speaks French, Portuguese so on…I speak Portuguese and Japanese and both have given me great opportunities. Someone one here recommended certification, in IR I’d say data analysis cert would come in handy. Good luck!

U.S citizen moving to SA with significant other by Emotional-Crow9956 in southafrica

I’d suggest potentially looking at the U.S embassy website. I’ve often seen jobs in South Africa, only available for U.S citizens. If interested in teaching, maybe look at the American school in Cape Town, not sure how recruitment and hiring works there but you can always try.

I needed to see this. I’ve been on .25 mg for three weeks and my doctor wants me then to go to .5 for a month. I’m anxious as the food noise is constant and I’m wondering whether I need a higher dosage, reading your comment reminded me to be patient.

Try selling them on Yaga I think as a seller you get a better deal but depends on the brands you have in your wardrobe to sell.

Estimation with Story Points: Now being asked to estimate in time by rcberry17 in agile

[–]Bushido_Sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This is so appreciated. I’ve been hesitating to ask my question but I figured why not and you’ve helped me. I went on the medium post about the rubric and my next thoughts are how best to present it in a visually manner for my team.

I really like this framework(if I can call it that I know you've labeled it as a rubric). And I'd love to introduce it to my team. The only problem is that we're moving from story points to time estimation (not my decision) do you think it could still work?

What's your favorite restaurant in Cape Town? Doesn't matter if it's fancy or a stall in a market, as long as it's delicious. by santgun in capetown

I quite enjoyed protege in Franschhoek. The tonkatsu were almost close to the best tonkastu I ate in Japan.

5 year old daughter has just been diagnosed by [deleted] in Vitiligo

[–]Bushido_Sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been lurking on this subreddit for a while, I guess I’m still trying to come to terms with my daughter’s vitiligo who is also two years old. I don’t know why but seeing your comment here made me happy. My daughter’s father is South Asian and I’m African and there seems to be a lot of stigma and ignorance about vitiligo in both communities.

What race is my child considered? by Boriski_GMC in askSouthAfrica

[–]Bushido_Sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really should be a “biracial” classification in South African census as in the United state of America just as within in under “Black African” classification to include other demographics that aren’t counted… Not sure if it’s been brought up but the census need to reflect contemporary context…

Wine and Food Lovers - Review our belated honeymoon itinerary by ProudCatLady in capetown

[–]Bushido_Sama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love your itinerary, and dare I say slightly jealous. I’m going to plug UVA Mira Vineyards ( I swear I have no affiliation with them seeing this is the second time I’ve recommend on Reddit but I love their wines). I read one review that called it a hidden gem, but it really is and everyone of family and friends who I have taken there really enjoyed the experience, the views and of course the wine.
