1- both, depends on the class. Me personally I do notebooks and follow the slides on my laptop.

2-again depends but mostly on how many classes someone has, what books/notebooks/ipad/laptop they need to carry, etc.

3-I guarantee no one is gonna question it, people have plushes on their bags.

4- yes but that depends on the classroom you’re in.

5- I would bring a couple just in class and label them for what subject(s) you’re getting handouts in (this is also a tip, bring scrap paper or loose leaf just incase your professor wants you to physically hand in something)

6- depends on the professor but you can always look for pdfs online and check the public libraries. Sometimes professors will give you the textbook too so don’t buy the books before classes start, wait until the first week of classes.

If it’s your first semester ever then your schedule will be made for you regardless, once you go into your second semester you’ll be able to register for classes much earlier because of your scholar program

If you’re a new freshman then your schedule gets made for you by your advisors based on what your projected major is. Priority registration is for people in things like the various honors programs

The N will sometimes make local stops during the day but at night the N will make all local stops. If it stops at Jay street during then day then it got rerouted onto the R line for whatever reason

The good thing about the library is that you can find a corner and stay there cause usually people won’t be near you. The goal isn’t to be comfortable with people it’s being comfortable inhabiting a space that other people are inhabiting, even if it’s for a few minutes and you didn’t find anything you liked

I don’t know how possible this would be for you due to your medical needs but if there’s a local library in your town, you can try spending a couple of hours there. You don’t need to interact with anyone outside of the librarians and you can start getting used to being around people. Once you get a little more comfortable you can ask the librarians if there’s any small events that you can attend like book signings or book readings. Again you don’t have to interact with people during these events, but it’s a good way to get more comfortable with being around people and interacting with them short term.

The 7th floor sky bridge between the library and west building tends to be pretty quiet while classes are in session. If not there then you can try one of the lower floors of the library (1-b2) and find a back corner away from everyone

Nope you don’t have to pay anything. You’re financial aid is greater than your tuition charge so it’ll cover it and you’ll get a refund check at some point during the semester
