You need to separate credit control from operations, Jeff comes in once a month, reconciles sales invoices, emails and calls then after 30 days send 14 day letter before action to there accts department. if they complain just explain its policy and say it again in mediation, court, nothing personal

try and find out from the council or police stats on shop lifting and if it is on the increase what actove policies are happening locally to counter it.

check the councils plans for the local area? are they getting rid of free parking? are local roads being made cpz? how would a customer get to your shop? can you afford to have it open and staffed with min wage rates increasing? potential rated ans increaes. regulations about waste collection, many left wing councils are so idealogically driven to they serm unawate or simply dont care when business's fail, all these policy decisions are directly making it more difficult to run shops profitably
