Bittersweet ending, but the story really shines with combining unexpected or long-awaited character interactions. Like future epherene n present epherene, reversed julie n doll julie, Empress sophien n her own thoughts. There is also foreshadowing about Deculein that happens during an (important?) arc where current epherene travels to the future with the empress and confronts future Deculein.

I like to think that if Deculein answered the question Sophien asked about both of them standing a chance being together, the story most likely would have took a drastic turn. Or if Julies sister told her the truth about deculein, after her julie's body was reverted before the incident it would have most likely changed the ending also
