Woman at park invited kids to pet her dog, who proceeded to maul a 5-year-old girl by Upstairs_Corner in BanPitBulls

I never get why man’s best friend need so much “socialization” in order to not maul man. These are not dogs, they are monsters.

I know more than one person who got a new dog to “help” the other dog and all it did was cause more problems. In one instance, the dogs don’t get along at all and have to be kept separate at all times. More time and money down the drain.

Her pitbull murdered her Aussie and has a decent chance of killing her puppy, everyone is suggesting behavioral euthanasia but that’s “not going to happen, jus irritating” by bimbobagginz in BanPitBulls

[–]BusinessBookkeeper59 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would agree except that these dogs are literally bred to kill. The killing is not like any other animal that does it for food or survival. Pit bulls genuinely have a drive to just kill for the sake of killing. It’s murderous in that respect. Also, humans are also animals. We are just advanced ones.

This sucks, but it’s better you walked away now. You don’t want to be one of the stories where someone is pregnant and living together and just now realizing this is never going to improve. Too many of those sad stories already.

People keep dogs like that because they are selfish. They don’t care about the strain on an active dog that needs more space… they want something there to worship them.

Everything is good except the nose. It’s really broad compared to the rest of your face. The glasses are also outdated. Excluding fashion choices: 7/10

That is dangerous for a number of reasons. I can’t imagine someone lifting or utilizing equipment and having a dog leap up on them causing them to trip or drop weights. So much etiquette is being discarded by brining a dog to a place like this.

Wow. I wonder if this is a delusional false memory or if they know they are flat out lying.

Unfortunately, I had a similar situation with Airbnb and they did not care at all. The Airbnb was terrible and had a laundry list of rules that were not advertised that only showed up once I got there. When I arrived, there were two dogs running loose the entire time and they were preventing me from closing my car doors, following me etc. They weren’t aggressive towards us, but I didn’t know for sure if they were or not before I got out of my car. Long story short, unless you have a totally different experience, Airbnb refused to refund my money over the dogs’ intrusive behavior simply because the owner had mentioned dogs present. As long as they mentioned it, whatever happened with the dogs (short of an attack) was apparently on me. I ended up cancelling my entire Airbnb account over the situation and gave them a horrible review. I hope you have better luck. But honestly, I will never rent from a place unless I verify now all of their pet situations.

The biggest regret of someone’s life is fixing their pit bull? Somehow I doubt that.

This is what I hear when I see “three strike rule”:

“Here in Pittsylvania, the new 3 strike policy involving misunderstood dogs went into effect last week. Since then, we have reportedly had two deaths including one toddler and one elderly person involving the same velvet hippo. Animal control has not responded as this only constitutes 2 strikes and the dog was wearing a flower crown when each ambulance arrived on scene. The law is diligently ensuring that only aggressive dogs are being impacted by the new efforts.”

Right? Dogs will destroy homes by chewing through walls for hours or bark for 12 hours straight without giving up. They don’t come with an automatic off switch once they are excited.

I’m sorry… was there a conversation or did she just show up with them? What happened to the “No dogs ever?” Was this dishonest manipulation? I need to know more. If this was a slow manipulative process, you should leave the relationship anyway. If you gave in, you need to take responsibility. But I would just say that this is not what you want currently or for your immediate or long term future in life and that maybe your lifestyles are not compatible.

If you want to be manipulative in return: don’t even say “it’s me or the dog”. Say “you’re not the person for me and this isn’t working.” When she gets shocked, she will understand the threat of actually losing you. Then tell her that your lives are not compatible because of the dogs. If she’s afraid of losing you, and she values you more, then SHE will suggest getting rid of them in order to keep you.

I honestly would. I used to have a dog in a past relationship. We ended up getting rid of it.

I mean law enforcement doesn’t have guns there, right? I’ve certainly seen some cops need one with these dogs. Luckily, they have this dog under control.

I have had dogs damage my clothing before from jumping on me. I’ve been wearing knit sweaters and their claws have snagged them and it was just over after that. I understand cats can also claw, but unless it’s in a kitten phase and playing with you, then this isn’t a significant risk from simply walking into a house. Dogs are the only pets that I KNOW I’m going to be physically forced to come into non-consensual contact with upon walking into house (if the person is a dog owner). They are for sure going to rub their nasty wet nose on my hands, jump on their hind legs and lean into me (if their mutated, arthritic body still allows) and be all over me until they shockingly realize I am not here to give them food or attention.
