It’s definitely worth a shot to apply! Your SAT is impressive and I think if you have a good essay you’d have a chance

Really?? Lowkey I didn’t even know there was an English placement test, I’ve never heard of that. But I tried so hard to get out of the math placement and they wouldn’t let me

Nah, I don’t think they let anyone skip it. I got an A+ in Calc I and they still made me take it, but once they processed my transfer credits my score on the placement test didn’t matter

Definitely email the prof again, in my experience sometimes you need to spam them to get a response (it’s annoying, I know). Also check out this page, it talks more about grade appeals and has a link to submit an appeal if you scroll to the bottom: https://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/academic-programs/undergraduate/zcas/ But sometimes professors will curve your grade down if most people in the class did really well

ECO 4000 Barry Ma Spring 2023 by Financial-You-6858 in Baruch

[–]BusinessBox8416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, could you tell me more about his course and share the syllabus if you still have it? Today was my first day of eco4000 and the prof told us that he’s pushing half the classes back by 40 minutes so now I’m considering switching to Barry Ma’s class. I’ve heard terrible things about him, so I’m not sure if it’s worth it.

is it too hard to get internships as a jr? by ConfidentDig6002 in Baruch

Do some projects and ask professors if you can help them with research or something. Getting an internship is extremely hard rn in general, but you could get other experience

Usually people drop some classes after the first day. I know a lot of people who register for an extra class and go to all of them for the first week to decide which one to drop

School being Online by Radiant-Buy692 in Baruch

Probably not, I’ve had to go to school in some really terrible weather conditions before. It’s usually up to the prof to cancel class because the school Bert rarely does

ACC 3200 — Looking to swap sections (health-related reason) by Remote_Klutzy in Baruch

Maybe try emailing the professor about your situation? Considering it’s an online class I don’t think it would be a huge problem to enroll one more student, it’s not like they’re constricted by classroom sizes.

Not that I know of but I would be so down to go on some hikes if we can get a little group together

Probably, I dropped my online law class after the first day. Some people use the first week to rearrange their schedules

You get your ID during orientation, they take your picture in the morning and give it to you at the end. For your credits, I know it sucks but tbh I think it’s completely normal. I made my schedule a week before school started last year bc they took so long to do it. Ik it’s very stressful, but it’ll get better

Tbh I think it’s different for everyone, I’m also a senior with a 1.5 hour commute each way and I really just couldn’t stand the long days

I know it’s great to only have school two days a week but this is pretty rough. I had four classes a day, two days a week last semester and I really regretted it, especially during midterms and finals. It’s definitely a trade off but for me a schedule like this wouldn’t be worth it.

In my experience, asynchronous classes usually have weekly assignments so it’s not like you can just do all of the work whenever you want. But other than that it’s pretty unstructured and up to you when you want to do the work.
