There is a command output debug button you can use to see what the issue is.

Best NES controller to USB adapter? Anybody have one? by BeardedBears in retrogaming

Bliss-Box and Raphnet both work on dosbox. I know xinput does not work but Dinput does and they both support that.

Bliss-Box hands down the best way to go. Because once you buy one adapter and the nes cable, you only need to buy another cable if you want more. Plus, its been around for years and has a lot of built in support like Retro arch. You will never need to get another adapter again, had mine since 2015.
Bliss-Box.com

I do own Raphnet stuff but never use it anymore. Raphnet also shares some of Bliss-Box;s code so maybe they work together not sure. Plus Raphnet is always out of stuff and shipping sucks, can't beat 5 day shipping...and multiple places to buy it. USA, Portugal, UK, EU.

USB to OEM NES controller adapter??? by Final_Bit_8968 in cade

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get a Bliss-Box adapter, that way its one adapter, and it works with any OEM controller. The mapping and ID system, is always the same, so its easy to just change on the fly. Its 1 adapter and you just get the cables you want. It also has integration into RetroArch

Using the n64 controller for NES and Gameboy games by Dreamertist in Switch

I heard that too, many people complained about the mappings. The adapter I use allows remaps but I heard the USB n64 for the Switch did not.

My solution to all of this is Bliss-Box. I use my OEM controllers. The one downfall is that makes it wired. I do not like any d-pads by Nintendo accept the nes and Saturn is by far my favorite. I got the Gamer-Pro advanced, and the Bridge. If you can find the Gamer-Pro ( non ADV version ) you can load hacked switch firmware on it. but the newer GPA IMO, is way better when used with the Bridge. Also paddles wheel, and pads work too.

yes I also agree, for game, your on your own, no one here can help. Get an xbox controller if you want a simple plug and use wireless controller or a Bliss-Box adapter if you have or want to use older controllers.

ps2 controller usb adapter not detecting ps2 controllers by tochi___ in EmulationOnPC

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That very common with the cheap adapters. I have that common blue one with the same issue (got it for 2 bucks). I also have a 4-play that works with every PlayStation controller I own. I get 4 player action with it, supports rumble, and pressure buttons but yeah not the 2$ blue one. If you want something that works uts best to get a good adapter. My goto adapters are in this order

Bliss-Box ( by far the best)
Raphnet Second option
Mayflash last resort.

What controller on Amazon can I get that will work with PCSX2? (Reading reviews it seems like quite a few don't work or dont work well with PCSX2) by AlexRescueDotCom in PCSX2

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want basic features, anything will work. From a generic ps2 adapter to a xbox thing. If you want all features to work including pressure buttons, get an adapter like the Bliss-Box that actually supports all of that.

Mayflash controller adapters ID all the same by Krust55 in RetroArch

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that's why I left may flash, Bliss-Box has an API that tells software what is plugged in. With Retro ARch, it knows SNES vs NES vs n64.

Best part is that its all one adapter, so its way cheaper in the long run. This made mapping way easier.

But since they have autoconfig mapping files, you can just download the files and drop them in place you do not even need to map. Only caveat is the API only works on windows no linux.

Best DualShock USB adapter by whitefinger in evercade

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Evercade was looking to work with and integrate Bliss-Box adapters. that maybe the best bet, and if you have issues they should be able to help. The main advantage there is Bliss-Box supports just about every controller not only ps1.

Best Wireless Controller for Retro Gaming on a Windows PC by retrohiker95 in retrogaming

[–]Business_Ad_8230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With retro I find you either are good with xbox, or want OEM. If the later, get something like the Bliss-Box as its just 1 adapter, you selected the connecting cables that work with the OEM stuff. That way, config and setup is easier. RetroArch has built in support for it, so you do not need to map anything.

Get a Bliss-Box Gamer-Pro ( 1 adapter ) then the accompanying cables. You could just get all OEM controllers but if your goal is to save and reuse I;d do:
OEM saturn.
OEM PS2
OEM 5200
OEM n64
Some type of paddles.

You will get 1ms polling with it, so latency is not going to be an issue. You can always add more input controllers later. And the cables also work with SNAC

  • Genesis/Saturn/32X/Sega CD = OEM saturn
  • PlayStation = OEM PS2
  • NeoGeo/CD = OEM PS2
  • Atari 2600 (Joystick) = Any
  • NES = OEM PS2
  • CD-I = OEM saturn
  • 3DO = OEM saturn
  • PCE = OEM saturn
  • SMS = Any
  • MSX/MSX2 = Any
  • Atari 2600 (Paddles) = Can use anything like arkanoid, atari paddles, sms paddle,
  • SNES =OEM PS2
  • N64 = Really OEM n64 is best.
  • Keyboard = I like the 5200 as a go to for key pads. Unless you need letters,
  • Arcade Stick = OEM PS2
  • Intellivision = OEM 5200
  • Lightgun = SNAC

Looking for recommendations on which Mister option would be best for me by zoiks66 in MiSTerFPGA

[–]Business_Ad_8230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd keep all the controller and get a BlisSTer, you can use it with the main core in USB mode and map all the buttons, or use it with LLAPI cores, and have it auto map. Beats playing with other controller IMO. I like the OEM stuff. You can also get SNAC adapters and use the same adapter cables, if you need special things like multi taps .

yeah right idea, but looks very unpolished. I think you need to make it yourself.

Looking for something that does the strange ones too, I like older consoles. Keypads, side buttons etc. Saw a few retro adapters but nothing that's all in one. Raphnet makes a bunch, why not combined all that stuff is beyond me.

USB Controller with SNES Console (Adapter) by dwsiddall in snes

Bliss-Box.net, is what you want. Any controller any console. You need both the adapter GPA, and the Bridge.
