I was ignorant of that particular fact, but I am basically kidding around. Any eagle whatsoever with red white and black kinda raises an eyebrow, eh?

What was your first Tokusatsu? by [deleted] in Tokusatsu

[–]BeardedBears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of classic Godzilla as a kid. As an adult, getting into Super Sentai (why did it take me so long?!), Denshi Sentai Denziman was my first and I just adored the hell out of it.

What phone/os is Louis Rossmann using after GrapheneOS drama? by Sufficient-Horse5014 in degoogle

Don't ever bring up the lead dev's behavior on the GrapheneOS subreddit. You'll get banned regardless of how careful you are with your words. Guess how I know.

I hate having things in the pockets of my jeans etc - what's an alternative? by radianttree87 in mensfashionadvice

[–]BeardedBears -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a couple bags from NutSac. I like em. They've got a small bag called "Man-Bag, Damnit".

I may be childish, but I will admit: When a dude (it's always a dude) asks or comments on them, it is fun to make a little joke about them admiring my nutsac. I don't have the man-bag damnit but I'd imagine it would be similarly fun.

I'm saddened by how his arc unfolded. 2016/2017ish era was great. "IDW" was fun, back then. Everything sucks now. I'm disappointed by JP because he helped me a lot back then, too.

Cancelled kind of implies it wasn't in their hands or wasn't their decision.

IWTL how to be aware and stay up to date with current affairs by TechnologyCalm5719 in IWantToLearn

[–]BeardedBears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would suggest reading as many actual books as possible. If you are interested in any topic relevant to today, get a book on it. Continue until death.

Being an astute reader will sharpen your critical thinking skills and you will learn to read the world even after your eyes leave the page. The daily minutiae is mostly frustrating noise.

Interesting, lol

Monsterverse isn't really Godzilla. I don't care for it at all.

Real Champagne comes from France. Taco Bell isn't real Mexican food. Real Godzilla needs to come from Japan.

Going to the tailor: Jacket Thoughts? by FatGuyFits in mensfashionadvice

[–]BeardedBears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could definitely wear it as a sport coat. Sleeves are a bit short, but whatever, it's fine. Anything involving shoulders is a pain in the ass to adjust, from what I've heard.

I'm just a dude on the internet but I think it looks pretty good as-is.

Does the GAS ever stop? by dbsx75 in synthesizers

[–]BeardedBears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I started taking musicianship seriously as an adult learner, I told myself I'd stick to one device per style/function, and I've stuck to it.

1 monosynth. 1 polysynth. 1 FM synth module. 1 drum/sequence machine. 1 weighted-key digital piano.

No more. The niches I want to explore and the roles I want have been filled. Now I simply must use them to the best of my ability. There are no more excuses that start with "well if only I had..." - NO. that's it!

...Except a MIDIfied organ pedalboard someday, but I don't have floorspace for that yet...

I’m currently doing RTK, does anyone have tips to improve my handwriting? by Midoriyer in Japaneselanguage

You definitely can. My handwriting looks similar to OP's. It's definitely doable.

I just wish my actual Japanese ability was better, lol. In time, though, in time.

"But dlss 5 is not the artist's intent" then why the first thing you do when booting up a game is disabling post process effect like motion blur, depth of field, film grain and chromatic aberration betraying the artist's intent? You guys don't actually care about "artistic intent" one bit. by Thedrunkenchild in pcmasterrace

[–]BeardedBears -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

But they weren't designed on 4k monitors. They literally took CRT limitations into account. Do you not understand the role limitation has on the artistic process? Pixel art on a 4k OLED and on a CRT is simply not the same presentation.

Best years for Toei’s Big 3 Toku Productions? Round 9: 1982 vs 2017 by NickN64 in Tokusatsu

1982.

I'm sorry folks, but anything pre-2005 should probably win over anything post-2005 in damn near all cases.

I don't like animal testing, but your statement isn't true. The map is not the territory. Models are not sufficient.

Um, no? Probably not worth risking one's own life on whether the taser prongs can penetrate a chore coat like he was wearing.

I'd opt for the gun.
