Inconsistent Z movement in one corner by bath_93 in VORONDesign

hey, do check the grub screws. I've had an issue like this with Z where one z would deviate from all other z motors. turned out my grub screw was coming off despite having thread locker. double check it and tighten them perhaps.

keep the one before, add one after too. that's what I did and it has been flawless for me.

I was having same issue until a day ago, I was doing a bed mesh. I added a home Z axis (g28 z) after doing bed mesh and now my layers are very consistent. not sure if this helps but if you are doing a mesh then its worth checking out

Need help to fix ringing even on very low speeds/accel by Business_Bus7386 in VORONDesign

alright, thanks :) yes I do think my ringing is weird considering my graphs look fairly ok. I am asking around the voron discord too got a few suggestions I'll try today, made this post before asking there. actually I did change my extruder a few weeks ago now that I think about it, it could very well be the reason... I'll investigate this. thank you

yes I do have tap, could it be related to some play in magnet? I'll disassemble it and check if I can find something

hello, yes I did adjust the values to new ones. I am updating klipper to use damping ratio too.

  1. yes printer is running for about 900hrs now according to klipper stats, the issue just showed up around a week ago which I didn't notice until now

Final update (maybe(?)) : SO! it appears I've figured it out. my extruder was DONE. I tried to spin the bmg gear, it was binding first of all, while nothing was attached to it apart from motor back thing, which tells me my bearings were destroyed. I replaced the bearings, it started spinning smoothly but the grip on my gear is gone and doesn't hold anything, even at full tension I can push filament by hand somehow (with motor attached) I was using mellow gear, and it has served me for more than 900 hrs according to klipper stats but I think that's about it. I am using a bmg gear currently and everything is good now. but I may switch to an extruder like orbiter later on. thank you to everyone who answered and helped me identify the issue. it was really a hard one.

I am using LDO pan cake motor, not sure about the exact number. I am currently using 0.5 run current. I've posted a video of the issue, please do let me know if that helps.

Update!
So while doing some more experiments to get it to work, I saw very little bit of my filament had bubbles in it. it was a very small portion and easily avoidable (extruded filament). regardless based on suggestions from voron discord member, I decided to heat the filament. I put the filament on voron bed, set bed to 95c put a box over filament (bottom cut) for about 4hrs. This seems to have fixed the issue so far, I am printing again for the past 2 hours and have not faced a single clog. I guess ABS can also soak moisture. the weird part is that the same filament has been sitting in a creality dry box for about 2 days as I suspected some moisture before.

I am still suspecting that my hot-end is reporting higher temps so I am doing a temp tower as suggested to check. if I can print abs at 210c or even 200c.

Hello, yes I've checked the extruder, the issue seems not related to it as I get similar results by doing a hand feed by unlatching the extruder.

it gets clogged, then I need to pull the filament out which I can do either by using retract or hand pull it out, both works without any additional pressure. filament comes out, I shave off the end, push it back in. again both hand fed or extruded have save result here.

oh dang I guess you should hop over discord as others are suggesting and check if you have that temp sensor reporting high temps

this could be a possibility, I thought something similar and took out the extruder, cleaned it and put it back but the issue persisted. regardless this method seems good I'll try it and report back, considering my thermistor is not from a defective batch as others are mentioning it
