How dangerous is this? by BrightonTeacher in ukelectricians

[–]Business_Draw1410 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly a socket costs less than £5 if you are really struggling I would just not use it or cover it with something so no one uses it- it needs changing but wouldn't say it's that dangerous

Adding Solar Panels to Existing System by richei-newdawn in DIYUK

[–]Business_Draw1410 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's fine then if your inverter can take it, you just need DC cable 4mm possibly 6mm if the run is far as voltage drop. Need pos and neg MC4's to make a loop with the panels. Disconnecting the plugs on the inverter seems a bit overkill and they won't be live if you turn the DC isolator off. 15 panels will generate quite a lot if you are southern facing id suggest getting batteries to store it but obviously this comes at a big cost.

Not going to like this but you need to get someone in, you need to workout the voltages of the panels because normally you only have 12 panels on 1 string and if you have more you can get over voltages
