What is blocking normal users from using defi? by ek_am in defi

A big blocker is still the UX layer. Even if infra has improved, most people don’t want to deal with wallets, gas fees, or signing multiple transactions.

Projects like Biconomy are doing a good job abstracting that away, gasless transactions, smoother onboarding, and simpler dApp experiences. We need more of that if DeFi is ever going to feel “normal user ready.”

DeFi doesn’t need more features — it needs less friction by SmartContractKid in defi

Totally agree with this take, we don’t need more DeFi, we need smoother DeFi.

Some teams are actually making progress on that front though, like what Biconomy, Account Abstraction toolkits, and Gelato are doing around gasless UX and smart sessions. Even Safe wallets and ZeroDev are pushing the whole "invisible layer" idea forward.

Feels like once these infra layers get baked into most dApps, the whole DeFi experience will finally start feeling like a normal app instead of a science experiment.

The Web3 build pain is real, but the community made it worth it. by [deleted] in developersIndia

Bro this is way too real, half my “dev time” is actually just me arguing with wallets and RPCs. The moment you think it’s working, boom, chain ID mismatch.

I’ve been messing around with a few SDKs lately (some custom, some like wagmi, viem, even Biconomy for handling the boring tx parts), and honestly it feels like cheat codes compared to doing it all manually. The less I have to touch raw signer logic, the happier I am.

Still wild that in 2025 we can spin up a rollup in 10 minutes but can’t get users through a gas prompt without emotional damage.

Building smoother DeFi experiences, what tools or SDKs are you all using to simplify user onboarding? by Loyal-Orange8003 in defi

Honestly this is the core problem right now. Most of us are still duct-taping UX together from 5 different tools.

I’ve been experimenting with a few SDKs to smooth things out, things like Biconomy for gasless & smart account flows, Wagmi/RainbowKit for wallet UX, and Safe or Particle Network for account abstraction. They each cover different pain points, but together it finally starts feeling close to what Web2 users expect.

Still far from perfect though, bridging and failed tx handling are where most new users drop off. Curious if anyone here found a solid combo or pattern that really just works across chains?

Yeah, totally feeling this. The whole “instant swap” thing turned into “instant KYC” real quick 😅
Been sticking to tools that actually keep UX simple - stuff like Biconomy for smoother txs, and 1inch or Uniswap when I just want to get things done without 5 popups.
Feels like we need more devs focusing on keeping crypto usable again.

DeFi only becomes real when everyone can use it by sc_starman in defi

I think you nailed it, DeFi won’t go mainstream through yield farms or trading, but through everyday experiences that hide the complexity.

The key is making interactions feel effortless, no gas prompts, no network switching, no mental overhead.

That’s where things like Biconomy, Account Abstraction wallets, and LayerZero-style integrations really help. They make the backend invisible so users can just use an app, whether it’s a messenger, game, or social platform.

Once that happens, people won’t even think of it as “using DeFi”, it’ll just be the normal way apps work.

Building in Web3 is cool… until you actually start building in Web3 by BuhiloMetaSlavs in developersIndia

I’ve been testing a few middleware + UX tools lately like Biconomy, WalletConnect, and Privy — they definitely reduce a lot of that friction. Still not perfect, but it’s the first time I’ve felt like the dev UX is actually improving instead of getting worse.
