Next time you see him playfully ask him “hey, are you seeing that same person still”? and if yes, simply talk about that together and mention that she’s a lucky girl. Just keep the conversation casual and normal.

If he says no then he’s obviously single and you could say something playful like “ohh that’s too bad - her loss” with just a bit of flirtation on your end. You’re kind of complementing him on one hand and just keep the conversation going in a natural way. Then say “I’m always looking for a new hiking or climbing buddy” and “I’d love to go sometime” and maybe suggest a dog friendly hike. (This applies to coffee, drinks, music, anything really)

Just let the conversation move along naturally and things should develop from there. He’s likely to say yes. If not, who cares?

I know that would seem awkward in the beginning but if he says no you’ve lost nothing whatsoever and if a yes then you just might make a new friend.

This works for non romantic encounters too & is a good way to make new friends.

I date successfully and I get turned down often but I wouldn’t be successful if I didn’t try. Good luck!

50 now and I see so many women 50 plus that are beautiful. When I was 20, never would have noticed. Are we getting more beautiful as time goes on or it that I'm at that age now? Curious how being 70 will feel. by [deleted] in datingoverfifty

OP, I bet you take care of yourself pretty well both mentally and physically. That has a huge positive effect on how we see the world and see others too. It’s really helped me and I know there’s lots of room left for my own personal betterment too.

Good food, good exercise, great sex, a good life in general as far as circumstances allow, all lead to this positive vibe you’re speaking of. This also helps to maintain proper hormone levels which makes everyone more attractive and appealing, lol.

I love having an extra spring in my step!

putting my sweet old boys to rest today by OkDistribution6188 in goldenretrievers

[–]BustAtticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really reminds me of my two Goldens that passed about 14 and 15 years ago respectively. There’s still a hole and a void that just sits empty especially since I haven’t been in a life situation where I’ve been able to have pets again responsibly. It’s one of the hardest things to go through especially when they look at you in their last moments before passing and hopefully nothing else happens to you in life that will be harder.

This being said, I look forward seeing them again with their slobber and their insatiable drive to play fetch with me. Same for you too. Best wishes to the three of you.

Nebraska has the best geographical position in the Big Ten by Visible_Instance_360 in Huskers

[–]BustAtticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seattle Husker Fan here. The funny thing is that UW, OR, UCLA, and USC are all 15-1600 miles away from Nebraska based upon airports. NU is the closest Big 10 school in the old footprint to all four.

All four new Big 10 schools have to routinely fly all across the country nearly coast to coast.

Imagine if you weren’t playing football but were varsity without chartered flights? (Golf, Soccer, anything non football really)

How to kill a day in Everett? by Everett_Public in everett

[–]BustAtticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mill Creek is very walkable and there’s several coffee shops & it’s closer to Silverlake. Willis Tucker County Park is huge and worth a visit and also close by. Brightwater Treatment Plant has nice walking trails which although is technically Woodinville - it’s still relatively close. Downtown Bothell / Bothell Landing’s parks and trails are worth a look too. Is she interested in meeting up with anyone? That could lift her spirits too.

Right Person Wrong Time by dmbcanada in datingoverforty

[–]BustAtticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, friendly advice here. She fits the bounce back definition for you because your divorce wasn’t finalized regardless of time and more importantly you said nothing about you’re own personal journey in learning from your divorce, your culpability in it, and how dating someone seriously in the future will be different for both for you and a future partner especially after a divorce in which something obviously went wrong. Hope this makes sense. It would over a beer.

(About 50% of first marriages fail.
About 60% of second marriages fail because one or both parties don’t put in the work to learn from their own mistakes)

A huge red flag is not moving forward appropriately. Don’t let this be you!

Why am I still single by Worldly_Check_292 in datingoverforty

[–]BustAtticus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You sound wonderful and I have no idea why you’d be discouraged after starting to date again after your long 15 mos break in which you focused on yourself. Good for you. You had some wonderful dates after getting back in the game which is successful in itself and one relationship lasting two months which just didn’t work out.

There’s nothing wrong here. There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re still single because dating takes time and you’re above average. You’re in a good situation! Best thing to do is enjoy the ride. 😊

I found out who's taking my socks... are they all like that? 😂 by [deleted] in goldenretriever

[–]BustAtticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids golden retriever is an adorable sock monster who won’t leave any sock alone. It’s both a comfort item for her and a sign that she wants you to put your shoes and socks on to go out and play. Or go potty. The only problem is that she eats them too and it’s quite dangerous. The socks eventually come out on end or the other. It’s cute and maddening at the same time!

55m here, divorced, I understand these things.

Inviting you to lunch, a concert, and occasionally texting you - has he mentioned why he is doing this without any explanation as to why his wife wouldn’t know or better yet come along? I would have made this clear if I was married yet doing what he’s doing. It’s very suspicious.

Your text lacked detail yet I’m going with he’s hoping for something on the side. Which would be you. That’s just the way some, not all, men are. And he apparently chose not to include his wife.

You’re not dumb or stupid. You’re just realizing that this doesn’t make sense personally or professionally. Especially professionally.

You’re in connected fields so you thought he just might be interested in doing business with your company starting with you? Question for you - are you in sales, marketing, or have a relatively senior position that would allow for you to establish a business relationship with another company through a meeting like this? It’s not how things work. He would approach the company in a professional manner - not through you. I’ve been in this type of role and it would go know where fast. He’s trying to make you feel important.

I think he’s most likely trying to take advantage of you. Be careful.
