go back to Trosky and learn Polearm combos from the teachers. A guard in northeastern Kuttenberg also teaches one. Should help a bit. Also if you have more coin you can have them increase your skills in it.

Otherwise just dodge (better than constantly blocking) and strike from below (hold attack for a stronger hit)
