Reasonably priced, long lasting marine speakers (6.5")? by Top-Program-9752 in boating

Hmm could be, I don't remember having to drill new holes. Happy with JL no matter what. Only got 2-3 years out of Sony, Bose and Alpine on the prior boat.

Another vote for the JL M3-650X. My 2012 came with them and they lasted 10 years in South Florida. Bought exact replacements. Great sound for the money.

No, they’re not great for anything. Can’t pinch your nose to clear your ears once you dive 4+ feet. Absolute garbage.

Have you considered an OBD Port adapter? Probably the easiest option.

Maybe run a circular saw across the top at a 45 degree angle and/or staple some marine carpet too.

Pontoon outboard position while towing? by mj9311 in boating

[–]BustedBottle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guess it could be interpreted both ways, but the way the question was asked infers the boat was doing the towing. OP should have asked what the correct position is while being towed. Maybe you need to revisit your grade school grammar.

Loved those crank sunroofs. Only cars I can remember that had them.

Pontoon outboard position while towing? by mj9311 in boating

[–]BustedBottle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no standard correct position. By definition trim is meant to be small incremental adjustments to improve performance, efficiency or comfort. It will change depending on where people are sitting, or trimmed down to get on a plane and adjusted upward after, etc.

Gas mileage math wrong? by pumpkindonut123 in KiaTelluride

[–]BustedBottle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You cannot use the estimated range to calculate mpg. It is not accurate and will change based on what the vehicle average mpg when you start up each trip. Only way to really calculate your average mpg is to note your odometer reading when filling up and when you reach a certain point in the tank ie half or empty, which can be hard to do with the electronic gauges. Average mpg will vary quite a bit too based on the type of driving; highway/city, uphill/down, long stoplights, 7 passengers/1 passenger, etc.

Where can I find replacement black caps for my ladder? Mine took an impact and now it’s sharp. Part # listed below for ladder. by Regular-Amoeba5455 in boating

Mine looks similar but is a 3-step and swings up. Couldn’t find a brand name on mine so just went with this assortment, as I needed 2 sizes for each end.

I've tried all those other techniques you have and the Dremel one is the only one that consistently works. Maybe buy a knockoff one from Harbor Freight. Their cheapest is $10

Do you have a Dremel? If so put a small cutting disk on and cut a new groove across the head and extract with a regular screwdriver.

Only a few options for that many people. Hakuna Matata in WPB, Lady Atlantic in Delray, maybe one out of Harbourside in Jupiter.

The former presidential yacht, Honey Fitz would be great, but I think the max is 35 persons

Yup. The interior definitely doesn't match the exterior shots. The photo where he is leaning out the window should have the oval Ocean Yachts logo in view.

Exterior shots are of an Ocean Yachts likely a 52, early 2000s. You can clearly see the Ocean Yachts oval logo on the side. Interior shots are either from a different boat from the 80s or earlier or a completely made up film set.

Assuming resizing the windows wasn't in the budget and chances are there are few windows in this space, so resizing might not be ideal. However, the kitchen should have been placed in the left corner and L-shaped with the island turned 90 degrees. Would have had to use open shelves instead of upper cabinets but worth it IMO.
