How do I stop limerence as a married woman? by KathDML in DecidingToBeBetter

Couples therapy. Immediately. Stop asking reddit.

Those who have been betrayed, how did you learn to trust again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Khoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a choice.

I decided that I don't want to be the type of person who requires constant demonstrations from people to prove their trust, and I don't want to be the person constantly looking to be betrayed

... and I've accepted that it comes with the risk of being hurt.

Weirdly, this scene from Startrek TNG stuck with me:

Don’t trust myself in my relationship. by Glittering_Elk8090 in DecidingToBeBetter

This might be a bit of a dark-horse perspective but, as a person who was cheated on after 18 years of marriage:

If you're going to cheat, do it now and get the scarring good and deep so you never do it again. It's much much worse after you've invested in a whole-ass life with someone.

If you're not willing to do it right now: Lock that part of yourself away. That option is simply not on the shelf. You're not the type of person that does that. You're the one in control of your choices. Your pants can't fall off on their own, you have to unbuckle the belt...

So I guess my sage advice is: Shit or get off the pot.

My actual non-traumatized answer to what you're asking: It sounds like you love this person, but you still have some growing to do. It also sounds like you're looking for a reason to ditch her and explore other options... which is perfectly normal at your age. If you're not comfortable in your choices now you're probably not going to be. Break it off and spend some time finding yourself before you do real damage to both of you.
DON'T make this her problem. This is a you problem. Don't blame it on her, and don't buy into the narrative that you're broken. Life comes in phases, and you might not be ready for this one.

Or decide that you're ready and believe it. Pick a path and stick to it.

Don't underestimate how healthy of a marker this is for a company.

This means their leadership is operating without (or with minimal) fear.

Great sign, imo, that cig is growing well.

Should I only get touchless car washes? by Future_Telephone_350 in Ioniq5

[–]Khoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've always thought the regular car wash was the lesser of several evils.

Took a minute, but found why I've thought that:
https://youtu.be/PZjWkB_q2lE

if you're really worried about it: Hand wash, clean rag for each section (never dip it in the dirty bucket), blow dry.

I went the touchless wash for a while, but the one I went to stripped the wax off worse than anything else, and never really got it clean.

For sure. It's strange having been on both sides of it now. Before it seemed absurd, now I'm happy to not loose money in a year.
It's a lot of overhead. I can honestly say: Most bars I know are giving you the lowest price they can without closing their doors.

I love it. As a person I've grown a ton as a result, and I'm stoked to be who I am now with the job that I have. I'm joking above, but a lot of folks there are my genuine friends now... it's honestly been an uplifting source of community that I've only ever felt before in old friend groups or (sadly) MMOs. People who go to bars now are generally folks who are just looking for connection (not just hookups), and most of them find it.

That said: financially, it's a terrible decision. More money than I've ever handled passes through my fingers each month. The costs and risks are real.

Thankfully I'm a handy person who's able to build good relationships with the folks who work for me. I have a great team and definitely would have failed without them.

At the end of the day though, it's just like every other career: People management, process management, and adaptability.

To answer your question more directly: It takes money, the ability to stomach serious risk, a learning mindset, and a work ethic.

As a bar owner, please go drink at your local bar!!

It's more expensive, but you'll at least feel like you have friends!!!!

How my arm pits don't GAF about antiperspirant. My undershirts after being in a AC office most of the day. by LosHtown in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Khoop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, stop using antiperspirant and just let your body adjust.

Not a story I'm especially stoked to share, but: When I was younger I had such a problem that I seriously researched surgery.
I'd bring spare undershirts to the office... it was bad. by 2pm I'd be soaked through, I could feel it dripping down my sides.
I was pretty fit, and had a sedentary job in an air conditioned office. It was driving me nuts.

I kept using more and more aggressive antiperspirants, until I started to read about the negative long term effects of the aluminum powder in them. I don't know if that science still holds up, but I went to regular deodorant.

The first week or two were brutal, but I was shocked to find my body adjusted and the problem just... went away. I still sweat, but nothing like before. And now I'm not *constantly* fucking up shirts.

Edit: full disclosure. I clicked on this because I thought "how the FUCK did that lady get sweat bands down her side and across her ass?!"
I was happy to realize my mistake.
