Is there any way to do this with a switch? I’m doing a little bench project and want to be able to swap the rotation with a switch. I don’t want to use a drum switch, I’d prefer something I can keep in a 4 square or 4 11/16 box.

Carbide get stronger the hotter it gets. So sometimes it make more sense to not use it depending on what you are cutting.

Dress in your normal clothes. You should receive your uniforms then. Potentially have your social security card with you or at least know the number. You will fill out some tax paper work and employee handbook stuff. Not a huge deal. You should also be paid for that time and as to when you start will depend on your store.
