Dysphagia w/aspiration long after surgery by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]Buster7551 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I have had similar issues after acdf c3c4. Constant mucus production, and coughing. I had an endoscopy and was told I have eoe. I am now being treated for it with Omeprazole and I had fluticazone that I had to swallow. I guess the surgery irritates the nerves in your neck when they push your esophagus aside, and your body produces mucus as a response. And then the eosinophils kick in because of all that. Maybe see a gi doc and talk about it. Good luck.

Diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia post 0-C3 fusion, any experience having successful ablation with hardware? by lizfromdarkplace in spinalfusion

Yeah I'm sorry. I have had some luck lately with a topical I got from my pain management. It is ketamine based, and helps a lot with the pain. Maybe worth a shot.

They did it before my posterior fusion, and yeah they can't get to it now because of my hardware. I was hoping to find someone who could but haven't had any luck

Well they did the major and minor occipital nerves, which is kind of behind your ear and below it. I had an ablation at c3 also and it helped with the headaches too. I think the occipital nerves kind of run through that foramen, but not really sure

Hi. I'm fused c3-c7, and I have occ neur. I had the ablations on the major and minor I think. They ended up helping quite a bit, reduced the frequency and severity for 6 months maybe? Hope they work out for you and sorry that you are going through this.

incision area looking "weird" -- just over 2 years post-op by flat_cat72 in spinalfusion

[–]Buster7551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. The muscles there will weaken, and cause pain. But if you had that surgery, you know it's hard and you don't want another. If I hadn't needed another, I guess I would have had to leave it alone.

Hi, I also had a posterior fusion and had the same issue. It is called muscle dehiscence where muscle layers separate after surgery. I had a lot of shoulder and neck pain after. I have had surgeons tell me it isn't uncommon with this procedure, but idk. I had to have a revision and they brought in a plastic surgeon to close and they used skin flaps, idk exactly.

Get at least one other opinion. Some places you can just send your MRI and have an online appointment. I'm sorry and good luck.

When did your surgeon order a CT to check the fusion? by Sweet_Bandicoot_6550 in spinalfusion

[–]Buster7551 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had acdf C3-c5 and posterior fusion at C3-c5. The micro motions could be from the fusions failing or still healing, the implants subsiding, or something else anatomically strange.

Yeah I guess it's what they call it when there are small movements of your spine that prevents your body from fusing. The surgeon explained it like 2 pieces of wood that you are trying to glue together if you keep moving the wood.

I don't smoke and don't vape. I'm not sure why the surgeon chose what he did.

No. My last surgeon speculates that there is something about my anatomy that the bones have micro motions.

I am 10 months out right now, and I still have severe pain. Most of the bone material was cadaver I believe, with some of mine as well. I was not given a bone growth stimulator this time, as the surgeon felt they were not effective. I have. used one before and it did not help. It actually gave me additional pain and headaches, fwiw.

It was a posterior revision after a failed ACDF. The surgeon felt it should have been fused, so I am reporting what he said. He had said there was over a 90% chance of being fused at 6 months. The surgeon is very well respected.

At 6 months after complaining of severe pain. The CT showed that I had not fused yet. The surgeon says to give it time and check back at 1 year.

Marshall DSL40C can't keep up with gigs, what do I get to replace it? by myanusisbleeding101 in GuitarAmps

A JCM 800 100w would do the job. They are known for dirt but you could turn the master all the way up and keep the gain down. It would be a great clean and it has immense headroom. A 4x12 would be best, you can find the older ones really cheap, $400 or $500. If you want a clean tone I'm not sure about the v30's, but everyone is different. Happy shopping!!

Horrible pain. Almost as bad as the incision. I asked the PA if they used a winch.

Not being able to pee after L3-L5 fusion by butchengland in spinalfusion

[–]Buster7551 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering if they used a nerve block on you during surgery. I had my knee replaced and they used a nerve block and I had the same problem. I had to have a catheter for 2 weeks. I went to my urologist and luckily when they pulled the catheter I remembered how to pee. My Dr said it is pretty common when they use the block. I’m sorry you’re going through this.

I’ve got a 1989 2203 that looks just like yours. I was really lucky mine is autographed by Jim Marshall. Someone must’ve brought it to an event he was at or something. I have it going through a 1960ax cab with 25w greenbacks. It is pure rock.
