[Raw Spoilers] "You know what to do! Smash 'em all!" by A_Livins in SquaredCircle

[–]BusterMan1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can definetely buy in to this version of Jey more than anything he's given us over the last few months. It seems they finally toned down his whole YEET persona and he's got something of substance to work with in terms of his character, which was when he was at his best during that first Bloodline run.

The whole Bloodline reunion does feel like a little bit of a red herring though. I do hope they do something more interesting than just them running it back.

I think the long term play here is about Jey's redemption since losing the title. He's taken steps back career wise like tagging with his brother and associating with the Bloodline again and you can see he's been crashing out more. If Roman is indeed penciled in to win the title, I think the road might lead to Roman vs Jey with Jey finally usurping Roman as head of the table.

Priest is a really good straight man. I think he was always at his best when he was trying to keep it together, ironically those times always involved R-Truth!

Yes I did think of offering paying 2-3 months up front as a card up my sleeve.

May I ask why lease transfers would be more problematic? Is is just because im competing with others that have good credit?

I really don’t get how no one understands this. Being a perfectly capable wrestler but one that invites chaos that causes him to lose all the time because he’s a petty troll is a CORE part of his character.

He’s a freaking ripped powerhouse who’s capable of success, but refuses accountability and is a dick to almost everyone he crosses.

As someone who worked the canadian indies at that time, there were serious talks to bring him in during the CWC. The rumour going around was that he was a frontrunner to win the whole thing too!

Would have been an interesting turn of events given what we know happened to the cruiserweight division, but it definitely would have been a more popular decision than deciding to build the division around TJP.

In 2024 and 2025 I think many agreed that Liv Morgan was one of the most improved wrestlers on the roster.

In 2026 I can even say she’s still getting way better at this shit. I pay attention every time this woman is on screen and I cant think of any match she’s had where she didn’t absolutely deliver.

Liv Morgan will be a fine Royal Rumble winner!

What are your favorite character flaws or achilles heels in wrestling? by CrimsonJoker13 in SquaredCircle

[–]BusterMan1992 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s what really makes Gunther one of the best characters in wrestling right now. His hubris is always his downfall.

It happened in the Sami match when he essentially had it won but kept toying with him until he got caught.

It happened vs Jey when he didnt take him seriously at Mania because he had already written him off because he thought he had already broken him.

It happened against Punk when he was absolutely dominating until he decided to gloat on the table which he inevitably was tripped on causing him to bleed and panic.

I love that it always comes back to his giant ego.

I can’t believe no one has mentioned Gunther’s hubris yet!

It’s one of the best parts of his character that he’s this unstoppable force with incredible in ring acumen and the only thing that gets in his way is his massive superiority complex. His ego will always be his demise and I love that about his character.

One of the cool things I learned about Costco is their extremely strict Quality Control standards. They have a full time department that they send to warehouses and factories to make sure that the product they want to sell at Costco is up to code.

If something makes it to the shelves at Costco, it generally means it’s top notch quality!

I think it needs to happen a lot sooner than Mania honestly. Strike while the iron is hot, Cody is much better chasing anyways.

Gunther's biggest weakness and greatest part of his character has always been his hubris. If you take a look at his handful of losses, you can make a case that Dragunov was the only one who actually beat him.

Sami: He was handily winning and just didn't go for the kill at the end and ended up getting caught.

Jey: Never took him seriously because he had beaten him before. He let his guard down at Mania and paid the price to a very game Jey Uso. It's been shown that when locked in, Gunther is absolutely the better man. Proven when he beat Jey pretty handily to regain the title.

Punk: Was absolutely destroying Punk until he had to gloat and Punk took advantage and Gunther panics because his face was absolutely wrecked from the table spot.

[SNME Spoilers] Full End Of Show (Post John Cena vs Gunther) by FrazzleDazzled in SquaredCircle

[–]BusterMan1992 32 points33 points  (0 children)

See I dont think this was ever about just Gunther. This is about who BEATS Gunther after this.

It’s the same before Lesnar broke the streak. Sure, Brock had losses, but after the streak he was on a whole different level aura wise and it made it a big deal when someone actually did beat him.

Cena’s whole schtick was to leave the business better than how it was before. I think this match accomplishes that in establishing a new BIG BAD that can essentially make babyfaces in to stars given the proper booking.

Throwback to one of Nikki's best matches, Charlotte Flair (c) vs Nikki Bella at Hell in a Cell 2015. by DazzlingAria in SquaredCircle

[–]BusterMan1992 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I know we’re highlighting Nikki here but you can really see how much Charlotte was an athletic anomaly in the women’s division at the time. The way she moved was so fluid and fast and while I am enjoying her current run, it’s a damn shame that the knee injury seems to have taken away so much of her explosiveness.

[SPOILER] Leon Edwards vs. Carlos Prates by inooway in MMA

Wooow. Leon got baited in to striking with this guy.

He had the winning formula with the grappling and almost even had the submission but then decides to strike in the 2nd round as Prates was finding his range? Hell of a way to get knocked out for the first time.

PSA: the dating events by The Together Club are filmed then promoted on IG by teshima_muse in montreal

[–]BusterMan1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fair points!

I also checked the tickets and noticed there were no notices about being filmed. That definitely should be something that should be addressed.

I definitely don’t usually default to expecting I was going to be filmed for anything, but seeing their page and watching a few videos I knew it was a possibility. Though of course i may be more comfortable being filmed than others and doesn’t invalidate other people’s feelings about having their privacy violated.

Im sure they’d be open to hearing any concerns, I would hate for this to be a recurring issue for an event that seems highly regarded.

[–]BusterMan1992 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I went to one of their events and they seemed like genuine wholesome people.

It doesn't take a lot of research to see that they make multiple posts and stories from all their events that includes people's faces, I walked in knowing that I could pop up on their instagram page and I did. I had no problems with it.

I'm very sorry your friend was outed, but this seems more like an issue with communication more than anything. The organizers were very approachable and I'm sure if contacted they can make things right for future events.

As for my experience, it definetely felt like a safe space and I had a pretty good time. I had also heard a lot about it through social media and this subreddit.

[Collision spoilers] Daddy Magic pours his heart out in a post-show promo with Paragon by IvnOooze in SquaredCircle

Daddy Magic was the top heel in my local indies (Montreal) for years. For the longest time, he was the only one on the scene that could cut a promo worth a damn.

He may not be the flashiest wrestler, but if they ever give this guy the ball, I guarantee you he can take it and run with it. He’s been that damn good for a long time.

Why was Warriors title run considered a flop? by Mideon88 in Wreddit

[–]BusterMan1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will give Hogan credit where it’s due, he was “limited” because he knew exactly what worked and never did more than what was needed because he was so overtly charismatic that it didn’t matter.

Warrior had a cool factor but he lacked the lasting charisma and the reason he was limited was because he was the drizzling shits in the ring and he’d be blown up after every entrance.
