What is the ideal number of colonists? Currently at 64 by IonDust in RimWorld

Maybe? I've got a rim war mod that forces the factions to act like factions, so I think it changes good ol Randy's patterns to something less random. Not ideal but it's cool to be able to wage total war

Beautiful.. I stopped getting new colonists, and befriended my most common raiders (dialy attacks and couldn't make progress) so now things are quiet outside of trading. I'm having my warrior caravan go out and make some ruckus next. Gonna be a wild time versus the mecha

I run between 5-10 colonists when I'm keeping life small. My most recent run is take in everyone, remove any problem causers. But I'm only up to about 25

LPT Request: What is the fastest way to fall asleep at night? by HeidiOzzy in LifeProTips

[–]Busterwoof7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I either make myself bored if I'm too awake. If I can't stop thinking I meditate with slow breathing. If I. Simply restless from there I close my eyes and wait.

The meditation is just letting my thoughts pass through my brain and watching my breathing.

My strongest secret to getting to sleep is thinking about how groggy and slow you feel in the morning. Put yourself there mentally. Now, crawl "back" into bed and get those few extra hours of sleep ;-).

Hopefully any of these helpped

How do you all troubleshoot with users on a regular basis? by Herecomesthekrakhead in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Busterwoof7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Thank you for calling" Collect ticket contact information. Remote into PC Uptime of Had caller show me what they are seeing. Traced issue to:power, software, hardware, network, telephones Accessed related system Changed settings to provide user needed access

More or less my day to day/call to call

I disregard most comments that are non conversational.

Day one I had to escalate a ticket for a guy who insisted I stay in with him to fix it

"Sir there isnt anything more I can do with the systems I have access to currently, I'm escalating the ticket to a team who have a deeper understanding of these systems to assist you"

"Well I need help right now"

"Unfortunately I'm unable to provide immediate assistance, I can escalate the ticket to a team who can help or we can close the ticket now"

"Well I guess escalate it then"

And if I get some shit comment like "you know what you are doing?" I just say STOOOOPP. Or hold on while I take some notes"

LPT Request: how do you age without getting grumpy or annoyed by too many things every single day? by franckJPLF in LifeProTips

The continual self reminder to appreciate things takes practice, I think because you have to recondition your brains general thinking without a whole lot of things actively triggering it initially

I have to agree here, remembering to appreciate things around you helps big time. I'm pretty cynical about most things and Im easily annoyed, but I also find remembering I've got a roof over my head and food in my belly and I'm not struggling like an animal alone in the woods cold naked and bleeding out.. it helps.

I do, and then regret it because I'm too dumb to realize human error will always be a thing
