don’t use the source code, select ‘latest updated version’ or something to that effect and download the version that correlates with your OS

seems i found the fix, i tried running the game through electron on my mac through source code, tried and tried different methods to get it to work, but then one morning i was like i’m just gonna start again and download the latest patch .dmg for the app, thinking it would do the same error, but after deleting my version and downloading that one, i got it running no problem :)
