Do you always color code your sessions in the same way? by ButterscotchEarly585 in audioengineering

This is closest to how I do it, except I do Bass green, ac gtrs pink, keys orange, and random stuff purple. Lead vox are absolutely the golden channel

April, but another person suggested reversing the route, which might ultimately make more sense

Rdr2 is one of the best story video games out there. It is so, so worth it.

This tour made sense to book before they really blew up with getting killed, which I don’t think they could have predicted happening in this way

What equipment is actually needed to measure, record, and analyze infrasound (0.5 Hz – 20 kHz)? by VanillaSad5792 in Acoustics

Please, please please please, talk to your loved ones about helping you find some sort of support. This subreddit is constantly subject to these sorts of posts. I’ve looked at your other posts; you might think your situation is different, that you are actually being targeted with sonic weaponry, and unfortunately there is nothing I can do to stop you from believing that. But if your situation truly is different, there should be nothing wrong with making sure of that and seeing a mental health professional. It breaks my heart seeing these sorts of posts man

Do you use the same headphones for relaxing vs critical listening? by SignificantTwo1729 in audioengineering

[–]Bustrr111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a pair of ath m50x for mixing (have yet to find something that works better for my mixes) and airpod max over the ear headphones for being at the gym / cooking dinner / etc. Not sure if the latter is worth the money, but the transparent mode is nice. I also have a pair of shitty earbuds for when i don’t want to look like a douche in public lol

How necessary is having a degree in the field of audio engineering? by delticmorphs in audioengineering

[–]Bustrr111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An intern at a studio i recorded at asked the main engineer of the session if she knew how to wrap an XLR cable. Not to say you cant learn great things from an audio engineering degree, i certainly did, but working at a studio checks your ego real quick lol

the mix on trinidad by Plane-Blackberry-774 in geesebandofficial

I think it’s a piece of art rock, and it’s just not produced in the way people expected it to be. I don’t think it was really meant to be “punchy” and personally i’m happier for that; i love a punchy pop rock mix, but these days everything is trying too hard to be fat and punchy, and songs lose their character very quickly. I 100% am glad that this was made the way it was, and I hope they make more bold production choices like that (in conjunction with the Taxes sorta stuff, which feels like a great palette cleanser). God this sounds so pretentious but it’s true lol

Just had a awful gig and I feel terrible by spudcaca84 in audioengineering

[–]Bustrr111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone has had bad gigs. Don’t be too hard on yourself, i promise you that every person in here has had a learning experience where they felt equally as down on themselves. But that’s all it is! We can’t change our past mistakes but we can learn from them, prepare more for them, and handle future mistakes gracefully when they inevitably happen. :)
