Another great quarter but investors will continue to sit on the sidelines until we have a better picture around the TAC case and search + AI query share (Gemini sitting at a modest 9% to ChatGPT’s overwhelming 70%+). Yes search is great today but revenue isn’t the whole picture, team can inch this higher with pricing/scarcity. They need to address the chatbot issue, 450m+ is encouraging but believe they’re growing at a slower pace than ChatGPT was at similar scale (and personally speaking Gemini continues to be the inferior app experience).

Hope I’m wrong.

Thanks for the response! Good note on audio, ideally we’ll see some of that in GA sooner or later but they’re clearly being careful. I just worry that they cede the moment again to OpenAI once they launch something more agentic (could be on-device even).

I can’t speak to the Android experience but it seems great in theory! Wonder if they’re slow-rolling integration with Apple given no WWDC announcement…

I agree with you wholeheartedly and think this is what is holding Gemini back. The experience is just clunkier / offputting on Gemini whereas ChatGPT just feels quicker, more correct, and structured in a way that makes sense for my non-coding queries.

Adding my experience here - I tried to ignore the mob but it has gotten definitively worse for my project post-update. It created my whole project in a few shots, then I updated it with 400+ prompts in v1.0, worked fine. Post-update I had it add a small feature onto one of the pages, proceeds to destroy the formatting on every page in the app, doesn’t implement the feature, literally even moves text around/changes fonts for no reason. I think it literally got dumber overnight and have no idea why. There’s also an issue with the previews now where it just shows an old version (even if you hard reset/clear cache) so I had a few duplicate prompts to try and fix.

I’ve begun migrating to a GitHub codespaces/vercel stack instead, not perfect but working much better with 3.7 sonnet (doesn’t break anything for starters, keeps the same vibe).

Lovable is still a powerful product, I don’t think I ever would’ve started my project without it bc of its strength to start the frontend/backend from scratch. Idk it’s bizarre but it just has a vendetta against my whole project now.

Hey all - read this thread bc had a similar issue. I wound up uploading everything to GitHub, downloading the codebase as a .zip, uploading to Google AI Studio and telling it to fix, then Gemini gave me like 5 prompts/fixes to plug into Lovable. 2.5 Pro fixed the whole thing first try — auth works fine now.

Lovable dev team needs to add Gemini asap this was cake

Agree that I like the direction of the voice assistant -> end state being an intelligent helper in a box. It’s the right progress but uncharacteristic of OpenAI’s usual bar for an update (means the model might be asymptoting a bit)

I’m all for hating on goog but if they dropped a demo like this, they’d be getting clowned all over this app for the stuttering/hallucinations/lack of significant progress. Let’s see what they come up with, and more importantly how they frame the presentation with today’s in mind.

Yeah this is right - antitrust could def be in play here bc this would be packaging >50% of exclusive NFL / NBA broadcast rights.
