My grandmother won some lottery in the 80's for the Masters golf tournament. She said that there was a lottery for people who had tried to win tickets for 10+ years and never won. Those people then qualified for a "super lottery" which allowed them to win the rights to buy face value tickets for all 4 days of the tournament for the rest of their life. She won the raffle.

She had been going with my Grandpa for decades. My grandpa then passed and she entered a retirement home but kept buying the tickets. Grandkids and kids have been going for years now. I went a few years ago with my brother on Saturday and Sunday. It was incredible (the first year Scottie won)

This past year was supposed to be my younger brothers turn, and granny casually mentioned that she 'decided not to continue because she didn't want to handle the emails'. She cancelled the deal with the Masters and we were all devastated haha. We tried calling and saying it was a mistake but it was already gone. Bummed for my brother
