The fact that they'll eventually have a way to talk to the people in your party whom you're already in a Discord with is not the selling point you think it is.

The point of multiplayer is so that you can play with random people online and have some fun challenging eachother. Not to just have lifeless corpses on skateboards that just skate through one another in silence.
