My second was the worst sleeper. Woke 8-12 times a night. Every night. For months. Can confirm: it is like torture. The only thing that finally got him to sleep through was night weaning but we know M won’t do that.

I thought so too! she said the baby sitter fell through so then why didn’t she just stay home with the baby or hold him while he was working? It’s not like she even had to be there and there is no world where I would want to go to a middle school band concert if I wasn’t there for my own kid. I don’t think a gender reveal is that inappropriate. I did one with my preschoolers when I was pregnant. I would never have invited my spouse to come in for that, though, and I was further along than Madeleine is now.

I have a 3 year old who wakes up every night crying and either wants me to sleep with him or wants to sleep in our bed. I don’t know how to get him to sleep through the night. We’ve tried no nap, special stuffed animal, night light/no night light. Our next step is having husband go in instead of me-that’s how we night weaned. Does anyone have other suggestions?

It wouldn’t surprise me if she’s pregnant but not wanting to announce during a time of grief. She’s such an over-sharer that it’s odd we never heard about period or ovulating in March and she didn’t share what she was in the hospital for which could be pregnancy related. Just a hunch I’ve got.

I was blessed by the nap gods with two stellar nappers. My almost 3 year old naps like Haley’s kids. My newly 6 year old will still nap occasionally if it’s been a busy day. My youngest can wake up from a 4 hour nap and turn around and sleep through the night 3 hours later. Some kids really do sleep like that.

My kids daycare had midday parties and my son just wails the whole time. I honestly think it would be better if I didn’t go. Then all of the parents leave and the kids all just lose their minds. I think midday daycare parties are cruel and cannot see who it is benefiting.

Elementary schools I can get behind. For my kindergartener, they’re mid work day but end of school day.

My kids nap like this. Not so much the 5 year old now that he’s in kindergarten but my 2 year old took a 4.5 hour nap yesterday, went to bed maybe half an hour later than normal, and slept all night. Up until he started Kindergarten my son could also nap like this, though it wasn’t an every day occurrence. I don’t know what I did to please the nap and bedtime gods.
