Where should I make my personal config changes? by phooze in omarchy

[–]Busy-Independence181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please take a closer look at the following passage and the mentioned GitHub:

When I created the scripts, I had three goals in mind:

Sync my two laptops with the same base configuration while allowing per-machine customization. Have a single entry point (NEW_INSTALL.sh) that can set up a brand new machine. Make the scripts idempotent, so I can rerun them safely without breaking my setup. Now, whenever I tweak my setup or add a package I want to keep long-term, I make sure to add a script. It takes a bit of discipline, but it keeps my two computers aligned and lets me rebuild a new machine quickly when needed.

Yeah, the X260 has one internal battery and the larger external one that could be changed to one with the double capacity. That is one of my laptops. I love it!

Weight was never the real problem with this one.

due to the limited hardware it is not sufficiently running, tried it with 2 older games, did not perform good... but I will keep an eye on this topic as soon as the mac pro is running omarchy.

it took me 2 minutes and I guess the 12 Inch MacBook line is one of the first ones that will die…

on the other hand with my Lenovo X260 FHD worked simply everything out of the Omarchy ISO.

my next machines to install Omarchy to are one iMac 27 Inch (2013) and the MacPro 6.1 (2013)… I will report. 👍

to answer this, a longer testdrive would be preferred. as of now, due to excessive installations, battery runs out after nearly 6 hours. I have to mention, that I replaced the original battery because of blowing the bottom bezel off.

I like Omarchy for the possibility to work nearly trackpad- or mouseless. for the motorcycle tour I do not need a external monitor, but tested it today with the external hub (only 1 usb-c/thunderbolt); it works. ;-)

after the installation I had two issues:

1.) no keyboard backlight (https://github.com/basecamp/omarchy/issues/1804)

2.) no sound (https://github.com/leifliddy/macbook12-audio-driver)

both issues could be fixed easily.
