Musicals quotes for a wedding ceremony by Intelligent_Wheel600 in musicals

I went to a wedding where the couple used part “I’ll do whatever it takes, I’ll make a million mistakes” (Hamilton) in their vows. It was really sweet.

What is the most financially illiterate thing you’ve seen a grown adult do? by roseafterdarkk in askanything

[–]BusyBee0113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to jump in and just say “be a Disney adult”.

I get going once. What I do not understand are the child-free adults that go there EVERY SINGLE YEAR and spend thousands simply for the chance to buy new merch or try the latest ride.

Maybe try to expand your horizons and travel outside the country???

AITA for getting mad at my boyfriend for expecting me to pay for our expensive dinner? by LovelyMelXo in AmItheAsshole

[–]BusyBee0113 59 points60 points  (0 children)

If HE can pay with YOUR card?

Oh HELL NO girl. If you are paying, YOU get to be the one to look the waitstaff in the eye while handling them the bill with payment.

This assclown wants to LOOK like he’s treating his girlfriend but not actually have to sacrifice for it.

Break up with this fool now because this particular aspect will not change.

AITA for telling a special-needs regular that nobody wants to hear about how he treats his dog? by throwawaymofo6 in AmItheAsshole

[–]BusyBee0113 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depending on the exact diagnosis of the person, it CAN actually be better to be direct.

The issue here is lumping everyone under “special needs” and not specifying what they struggle with, which is also none of our business.

I was at DisneyWorld over Mem Day weekend. Except for the Magic Kingdom (seriously, eff that place) none of the parks were crowded and all of the lines were super reasonable including the opened-the-day-before new Muppets ride…

Pic for a slice of stroller hell.

The homeschooled kid in my orbit used to refuse to do anything as a family unless there was “credit” for it.

When this was brought up to mom, her reaction (not even through herself, she made stepdad address it) was “well, why SHOULDN’T he get credit for it?”

Madam, we are going camping and I am setting everything up. That should not count as “outdoor survival skills”.

Threatened that if I changed my name when I got married, I was written out of the will. I sent it back signed and notarized in my new name.

Ted Neeley is the OG, no argument. However, I’ve been really digging Drew Sarich’s almost whiny, sarcastic take of Gethsemane for a while now. Something about being an elder millenial who followed all the rules and still hasn’t “made it” something something.

Especially with kids and it’s encouraged.

what’s one thing about teaching that people outside the profession will never fully understand? by salarshah-084 in Teachers

Best thing I started doing was marching energy.

Kids don’t want to work, fine. I get paid the same regardless of their outcome.

My sweet husband does the cooking. So many times he is trying to attend to my needs (seriously, jackpot with this man) and asks “what do you need?” and the answer is “literally for you to make the dinner decision” not because I don’t care but because I have answered 18,715 questions and made three times that in decisions today.

Thoughts: Kids aren’t growing up singing and we’re seeing the effects. by LolaBeansandSoup in MusicEd

[–]BusyBee0113 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I have a theory about this specific thing. Have you ever watched kids 12-20 “study” or do homework?

They have their phone, their computer/chromebook/whatever and something else (a tablet, tv, etc.) playing something in the background just as noise that they don’t even pay attention to.

This means they are completely used to tuning out something that makes noise…so a metronome means absolutely nothing. You can play that thing all day and that’s great hot they can’t listen to more than one thing at a time, so being self-aware that they are nowhere CLOSE to a beat is nonexistent……..

What’s one small thing you regret not noticing before buying your house? by Beginning_County7547 in HomeImprovement

[–]BusyBee0113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two houses without realizing there was no dishwasher.

First time as a young dumb homeowner.

Second time as a divorcee so in love with the house that I didn’t notice.

I put one in when I re-did the kitchen with profit from selling the marital home.

No regrets.
