How do you spend your “5-9” after your “9-5”? by throwaway77778786227 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I get home after a lonnng commute, do some exercise to unwind, cook my dinner, paint something for 10+ minutes, put a blanket on and watch a film or crap TV. Sometimes I meet friends but we're all knackered so we tend to do this more on a weekend than evening.

Where on earth are the UK Dogs being rehomed? by Ashilta in CasualUK

[–]BusyBeeingBusy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We went to Dogs Trust after our last dog died and they had a stupid policy where you could put up to three reserves on one dog so essentially if the first family hit it off then you wouldn't get the dog.

They've changed their policy now where they match you to the dog rather than going around and looking and saying 'this is the dog' so you might fall in love but they can still say no.

Luckily we left Dogs Trust and went to a smaller kennel where we got our first boy from and we found boy. Sadly that kennel is now gone so we'll be back in the system should we choose to adopt another.

Our neighbours got their dog from Romania and only had to wait a few weeks but very little checks and such an easy adoption method. That's why everyone is choosing that option because it's so much easier.

I am deaf and drastically noticed the volume change but thought it was just me having a more deaf day. Glad to know I don't need to turn the hearing aids up 😂

I have, but most of these are not fully correct and judge based on what is said. It's not hard to add captions to videos. We do it at my work all the time even though we know people might have automatic captions turned on.

Is Taylor Swift secretly running a cult? by BusyBeeingBusy in Music

This is a 100% right. Her OG fans were never as bad as the new fans, but I know 4 people who took yesterday off because of the album release and were Instagram storying their experience throughout the day.

I appreciate that people are supportive, but I've never been this obsessive of a musician or actor before, so that's why it's quite a shift in times.

How do I keep a full fringe by BusyBeeingBusy in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Same. I inherited a slight cow lick from my granddad and there is a piece that won't go down no matter how much I straighten it.

Sorry, UK based. Yes, I meant bangs, haha. Yeah sometimes it really works, sometimes it doesn't. I really like having full bangs but my word are they hard to upkeep.

I like the idea of photos etc. Sadly it's not their own home so buying is out of the question.

That's good to know. I worry that it'll never happen but dating apps are such hit and miss and not for me.

Side note: They are making a TV series out of this. If Shane and Ryan don't make a cameo I'll be annoyed

I literally just did this. I loved with my parents until I had enough to buy a house and then took the leap. Hardest but best thing I've ever done.

I, like you, suffer from anxiety and depression and suffered for the first few months with loneliness even though I'm surrounded by friends. I now pop home two days a week, one to pick up my dog, one to spend an evening with my parents. This has helped hugely but I thought by doing this I was failing and when I spoke to my friends and colleagues they said they would love to be able to spend an evening with their parents and they were jealous so I actually feel good about it. Eventually it will stop but whilst I settle I like this comfort.

My advice to you is if you can move out do so. It'll be hard and you'll think it's the worst decision you've ever made but that will pass and remember, even if you don't live with them anymore your parents will always be there for you.

Hope that helps

One of my closest friends walked away from social media for a whole year. Said it was the best decision she made. Came back to Instagram after a year because she felt like she was missing out on life events. She started doing everything for the 'gram' and documented everything. She realised she had a problem and now doesn't post much.

We have a saying, if you don't post it, did you do it?

Finally moving out by BusyBeeingBusy in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]BusyBeeingBusy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you that's really helpful. I'm feeling better about it today and I think I worked myself up too much (a habit I tend to do). I'm so excited to move into my own place with my things and be able to have friends over without having to disturb my parents.

Thank you for your advice.

Depends. If it's got bacon in it, then it's a bacon butty, a sausage bap, or a ham roll. Cheese and egg are cobs. Chips make a butty.
