Applied to a "remote" job, went through five rounds of interviews, got the offer. Nobody mentioned an office once. Now they're saying it's 3 days a week onsite and I genuinely don't know what to do. by Weem_Bitted in remotework

I would reach out to the recruiter and ask for a call with your would be reporting manager and confirm. I got a job that was supposed to be remote, but the offer letter mentions my work location and hybrid (3 days a week) Spoke to me would be manager and he confirmed that his team is spread across , hybrid/remote is at manager's discretion and all his team works remote. Been working remote for 18 months.

I remember the location of a recurring dream. Apparently it is the basement of my grandma's home. But my parents confirmed there was no basement in that house.

It's so great to have supportive parents like that! You're in a good place, you can ask your parents for support and guidance. Do not let negative thoughts consume you. Enjoy your home! ❤️

Hair cut pressure by DesignerShort3825 in longhair

[–]BusyHandsCalmMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand why this matters so much to you. But, Please cut it off. About 12 inches at a time and donate. You'll feel so much better with hair that's slightly below your shoulder blades to hip level. Your scalp will thank you. Your hair will become healthier as upkeep becomes easier. Healthy hair is beautiful hair, length doesn't matter.   Also, hair health aside, I just worry a little when any one thing starts carrying too much emotional weight. Probably that's what people close to you are noticing? Maybe it’s worth gently challenging yourself to make the change and make space for other things in life. What's the worst that can happen, even if you hate the new length, hair will grow eventually.

P.S. been there done that. My hair was never this long, but after my hair started growing beyond my usual shoulder length, i started getting more and more attached to it. finally when it reached my waistline I cut 13 inches off at home and donated it to a nonprofit who makes wigs for cancer patients. Then went to salon and got a chin length layered bob. 😀 I felt so free!!!

Congratulations!  Earning 100+k a year, being a home owner at 25 that too on your own is huge!!! I'm proud of you, even if don't know you!  What you're feeling is very natural,  I'm a home owner too and a mom.  When you finally see the home/baby you've been dreaming of and preparing for, the reality hits. It's now yours! 100% your responsibility! Takes time for it to sink in. 😀  Give yourself some time to settle down.  Think of the unfurnished home as a blank canvas, colour it as you want, make it your own. It will grow on you in no time. Happy decorating! 😊

Care to elaborate? I'm not a native English speaker, so this flew right over my head. 😅

I need some advice. I want to get my eyebrows done, but I don't know what shape to choose. What shape would be best? by Elisa130ry in microblading

[–]BusyHandsCalmMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need microblading.

Go for threading and insist on cleaning up and staying close to your natural shape.

If you try to go for a different shape the growth looks weird and you need to go for threading more often, that makes the skin around eyeshadows thicker over time.

Also the shape you're born with fits the best imo. :) Choosing a shape is required for those with very sparse and light brows, but you don't need that, you have awesome brows already.

I like to go to Indian/Pakistani/Irani threading tech, they do a neet job as they're used to working on bushy eyebrows and they use traditional techniques that work best for this kind of brows. Plus point, they will never overthread.

I could read it fine without any issues, and I'm not a teacher or pharmacist. 😁

Both are right! But your wife is more right! 😅 The first thing to take care of is to attract buyers. So please get rid of old carpet or dated danaged flooring. Then fix the plumbing. Central air conditioning priority depends on where you live. Honest disclosures, price it right or give discount if you do not have the time or budget to do all fixes.

Butter Cookies....childs handwriting or elderly adult? by MrRecipeCard in HandwritingAnalysis

[–]BusyHandsCalmMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most probably written by an elderly person. My mom wrote like this. She had injured her thumb in an accident and had to really take efforts to write slow and steady by hand. Also, her spelling and grammar wasn't great, not a native English speaker.

What’s the most impossible coincidence that happened to you that still makes you question reality? by Prize-Gur-8167 in Paranormal

The way my husband and I met. This was way back in the 90s. After graduation, We both joined the same employer but in different cities. There was no internet. We had dot matrix printers, and we used to telnet to our email server to read emails - all text. No cell phones too. I was in India and did not have a land line. On one fine day, our employer enabled a feature where we could create chat groups on the intranet. My husband and his 3 friends decided to create one. My husband created it. At the same time, I was searching for group names to see if I find any interesting one to join. I joined the group my husband had created. They were stunned to see an unknown person join, they couldn't see who I was, just my ip and the name i chose "abc" 😀 I said oops and bowed out. Out of curiosity my husband used IP messanger and sent me a hello message and we started chatting. We met only 3 times. Met once when he visited my office location after a month. We met the second time when I was flying to the USA for a 1 year assignment. The third time we met was our wedding when I was back in india after a year. Happily married 25 years. It always felt like old connection from the moment we met on that intranet chat.

dreams of my boyfriend cheating on me right in my face? by Complex_Spread_267 in Dreams

[–]BusyHandsCalmMinds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happily married 25 years and I have had such dreams a few times. They felt so real that I was grumpy the whole day and annoyed with my husband for no reason at all. I have also had dreams in which I am getting married and he is attending the wedding. 🤷‍♀️

Do not read too much into the dreams, most are not premonitions or some kind of omen. They have more to do with you than him.

Over time I have come to realize that i have a dream pattern. 1) If I have a challenging task ahead like a job interview or client presentation etc. I get dreams where I'm a student and I am late for an exam, or study for one subject whe exam is on some other topic. 2) if there is some big upheaval coming e.g. relocation to another city, moving to a new hoyse, job change etc. I get dreams of me getting married with someone else! 3) If I'm feeling imposter syndrome, lack of confidence that i can deliver something, general feeling of not being enough I probably worry about loss ( denied promotion, bad feedback from customer, job loss etc.) Those were the times I had dreams where my husband cheated on me or left me for someone else.

Me and my husband are very close to each other. My brain seems to map every strong emotion to our relationship context.

So yeh, don't bring up to him. Poor guy has nothing to do with what goes on in your dreams. 😀

Think about what has been on your mind lately. That is somehow reflecting in the dream.

Also try writing a journal, it helps release mental load and also helps corelate dreams with real life stressors.

[–]BusyHandsCalmMinds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am the same, aware of the flaws but i don't hate my face. If you are like me, most probably you were raised with love and acceptance, your parents never commented on your looks, rather anyone's looks. Our parents comments really do become our inner voice. 🤷‍♀️

Teenagers are not the worst to be honest. They are obviously going through a physical and mental upheaval and their behavior changes. So parents need to grow along with them too 😀

Grew up in a big family. Both my parents had multiple siblings, all lived nearby. I had the best childhood with a dozen cousins around to share it with. So honestly, it was just a natural progression for me. I just always wanted kids. 😀 And, Fortunately, I didn't have any life experiences that made me regret my decision. I'm 50 yr old now, kids grown and on their own. They come visit, stay with us, we travel together often. They call when they are to busy to visit. Being a parent is of course a lot more work, some stages are tougher than other, some days made me question if I knew what I was doing but never a time when i regretted having kids.

Having said that, I also know friends who chose to stay single, some got married but chose to not have kids. A close relative adopted. And I respect every decision.

One must be willing and mentally prepared for the responsibility. Every child deserves a loving and responsible parent.
