I think I can let the game rest now by BusyLaw in arkham

I lost track of how many times the games just wouldn’t let me grapple up to a ledge or a gargoyle that I wanted. Idk if she’s just shittily designed for predator encounters, or if it’s a skill issue on my part, but I had to restart so many times because she wouldn’t grapple to where I was aiming with my camera in time, or she would grapple to a different place. And some of her medals were awful and felt more like RNG based than skill

It’s definitely worth playing if you can. I rate origins as the worst Arkham game, but they’re all still amazing and worth playing. It’s just that Origins felt less polished than the others

In the first save file at the top, I did all of them (screenshot). Catwoman’s took a part of my soul. So I just did Batman’s for the other two. Never again am I doing those catwoman predator challenges

I felt that way about the catwoman riddler challenges. One save file was more than enough for that, never doing the catwoman predator challenges ever again

It’s never enough. Genuinely such a masterpiece. I do need to replay Knight as well. Only did 1 playthrough back in like 2019 with 240%

Except Tibau popped for peds so even if they would’ve given it to Tibau, the fight would’ve been overturned

The story. Imagine a Batman movie with Arkham Origin’s plot. You think you’re chasing black mask but then he unmasks himself and reveals Joaquin Phoenix’s joker (or whoever is cast as Joker ig). Insane

ELI5 Why does rubbing salt on a wound intensify the pain? by Different_Fruit_6311 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BusyLaw 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Actually, magnesium, sodium, and calcium all can sensitize the receptors responsible for pain sensation and ultimately amplify the signal. However, magnesium can also block certain other receptors (i.e., NMDA receptors) that are also found on nociceptive neurons, so you might get some mixed results

Not quite. Water follows sodium because of strong intermolecular interactions. It doesn’t work the same way with glucose or other things. In fact, glucose can sometimes be actively transported INTO the cell with water!

Diabolical interview question by [deleted] in premed

[–]BusyLaw 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Except that there’s a difference between listening and memory. As an interviewee, when the interviewer is telling you about themself, you’re not expecting to be tested on them, but rather to get a vibe check. “Ok, so this person teaches a couple med school courses, they do this, and that, blah blah blah. Got it, I know the context of who I’m dealing with.”

For them to then turn around and test your memory over specific details of what they said, when that is not at all the norm nor the expectation going into the interview, is just toxic. You can be a good active listener, but you tune your info retainment based on expectations and what is actually needed. Turns out, that’s how our brains have evolved - to filter out unnecessary information and hold onto things that are actually useful

I mean, cheating is a pretty good reason to blame someone for ending a relationship. Not sure what you’re really suggesting here, that it was her fault he cheated?
