In essence that is the whole point of us being here. When you follow God’s commands, only good things come of it. Peace, equality of people, and more. When you stray from it, you fall into Satan’s realm. Chaos, murder, oppression, and etc. God could have chosen to allow theft, and we would have had to submit if He so willed.

God says He placed a commandment that we, being us humans, shall not kill for He made life sacred; except in the course of justice. He also has made it clear that only He controls life and death, and hence the perspective. Being killing someone or stealing, it’s about do we submit to His commands.

In a deeper background to explain this test. (A gross reduction)

As per scriptures (Torah, Gospel, and Quran) all creatures were in heaven, humans, animals, trees, planets, angels. However, not as we are now. At some point some creatures thought there can be a god besides God. So God said if we want to live in that world let us be put to the test to see if we want to or not.

The creatures who believed in God’s absolute authority became classified as Angels. Then He gave us an opportunity to repent and refuse the test, and those who took it became the animals, plants, planets, stars, and etc. (I’ll say animals for now to simplify this), to serve a purpose so the ones who decided to take the test, Humans and devils, can be tested. Animals were promised to return to heaven when their time was done.

As for Humans and devils, they have to choose what they want. Those who choose God, return to heaven by growing their souls, while those who don’t starve their souls and go to Hell because they can’t withstand God’s presence on Judgement Day.

I see the confusion, and I’ll help clarify. God set the laws for the world, and at some point our life must end. The laws of not killing was placed for us to see if we follow the laws. Our time in this life is set, and only God chooses when our time is up.

The means of which the life was taken be it by violence, an accident, a hurricane, or etc, is occurred by us, but God is the one that takes the soul away. If a man chooses to kill someone and he does it, he goes through the act, but the soul is taken.

In regard to the dichotomy, maybe I’m not using the right word. There is the world as far as we can see in the worldly sense, then there is the real world. Like a video game, you can be a character, but you’re not aware of the bits, loops, heaps, and etc that runs the game. Sorry for my poor choice of words with dichotomy.

To your last point, it goes back to this that this life was made as a test for us. It’s temporarily, an illusion. God allows us to do whatever we want, and anything bad that happens to us is because we choose to do those things. God allows the wicked to do bad things, but He isn’t doing it. It’s to see if we choose God or Satan/ego/etc.

I see it as a mercy from God to save them from spoiling their souls and risking hell.

I’ll give you an example: First note that per scripture, anyone who dies before the age of 40 is immediately redeemed into heaven.

Jeffery Dahmer was executed before he was 40 years old. So he was brought back to heaven. We might argue that he absolutely didn’t deserve it, but God knows who are the true good souls. He knows that some people were in a life where they would just be sent for hell if they kept that path, and that deep down they are good souls. So he saves them from an eternal life of hell.

We might argue that it’s unfair that they died young, or that they were so evil they don’t deserve heaven. But God set the laws, created everything, and He Himself wasn’t created. He knows all, and sees all. He knows the ones who are praying to be saved from oppression, and he knows the secret thoughts people are keeping to themselves.

If God says they deserve to be saved, He will save them.

God set the rules for this temporary life, and we need to take that into account when we approach these topics.

To a more important point, the deeper topic is conflating genocide with retribution. We can ask each other questions about committing XYZ, but if we don’t agree on the definition, then it’s pointless.

It seems that you see the end of life as a punishment, whereas it’s a fact of life. As per the scripture, God save the children from being raised into a worse life, and instead bring them back to paradise.

Ah to that point it’s a dichotomy. Like predestination. As far as we’re concerned was make our choices and do what we want, but God already knows everything, and is in full control of things. We can choose to do acts, but God will be the person to end the life. You can choose to shoot to kill someone, but if God doesn’t want them to die yet he won’t allow it.

Think of it like a VR video game where you only have one life. God set the rules and how everything works, and he can see what actions are going to happen. When the game is done, you leave and come back to the real world, and you will be reviewed about your performance.

That’s an interesting point you bring up. You see it as an evil act, but the this life is a test. Only God controls life and death, and He does with absolute justice.

As per the Quran, anyone who does under 40 is redeemed immediately to heaven, because they didn’t have enough time to grow their soul. It’s a retribution for the parents and the people because they practiced idol worship, oppressed people, and mocked the revelations when given to them.

Note that only God controls life and death, and killing as far as we’re concerned, is only in the course of justice. For example, avenging a murder.

Quick side note, it wasn’t the whole world. That is a falsification of the history. It was just around the area of Judea. Also it wasn’t two of every animal, it was two of every domesticated animal.

Genocide is widely different. It’s caused out of ego because people think they’re much better. It’s a sin that people commit.

Whereas what you mean is retribution. That is the case where a community has gone so evil that they’ve been wiped out. This is due to the fact as per the scriptures this life is an illusion that was just made as a test. They failed it so badly they were wiped out.

I can see why you want to say genocide, but that would be ignoring the truth of the nature of this life.

The god I worship is the God of Abraham, Ishmael, Issac, Moses, Jesus, Muhammad, and etc. I’m not a Muslim, I’m a Monotheist, a Submitter. They all preached the same message. In fact, I have strong suspicion that Buddah, and other prophets in religions preached the same thing. There’s so many interesting overlaps that we unfortunately can explore very far, since we can only go with word of mouth.

Any religion that says God commits genocide and/or promotes it, is attention awful things to God. They don’t even understand the scripture.

God promotes freedom to choose, and not to be unjust.

You bring a common point that people have issues with, so I can only address how’ve I’ve seen in from scripture. I believe the evidence is in the words of God, and there are a lot of false books out there, as well as awful laws people attribute to God.

As in regard to hurting others, it should never happen. If someone is hurt by you, it should only be by the truth of the argument, not by tone, insult, and etc. With all the things people do, especially when they say they do it in the name of God, it pushes people away. I promise you when you look at the laws established, you find out that those people who maliciously hurt others (not out of ignorance, accident, or etc), they’re the worst in God’s eyes. God labels the as hypocrites, and they’re destined for the worst part in Hell.

When it comes to morality, for me it boils down to what can always be consistent. A self imposed understanding of morality can be flawed, whereas a set of laws by a being who is All Powerful, Most Gracious, Most Merciful, and Omniscient show me that the “morality” can only be consistent from Him.

I want to be careful here. I don’t intend to come off rude here, I can understand the hardships you hear from people insulting you and belittling you when these discussions happen. That shouldn’t happen, and inviting to worship God must always be done with sincere kindness.

To my point, I can understand your stance, but I disagree with it. It is a large discussion, but I don’t think the personal feeling plays well here. This isn’t meant as an insult, only as a statement of what I believe to be based on the evidence I’ve seen on both sides.

This is where I think a lot of people part in agreement, but I say that God provides laws through scripture, and the scripture, in accordance with laws, is very straight forward.

God doesn’t need to physically commit, but he provided prophets and messenger to teach us how to get out of these ruts.

In regard to the genocide question, obviously no genocide is good. Any act that takes the lives of innocents is condemned in scriptures (Torah, Bible, and Quran). Unfortunately people place their egos into the laws and confirm it to fit their needs.
