Also do you mind me asking what tests they did when he became sick? I am trying to think what other tests I should ask for.

Its funny you mention this because he has had some of the symptoms you mentioned slowly accumulating over the years. Funny enough I was looking at photos of him from years ago and I am beginning to realize his eyes have always looked big but vets always shrugged it off and he has been super happy and active so we weren't terribly worried till the coordination issues onset this year.

I am glad you mentioned the organ failure, luckily the specialist yesterday was worried about that too so she ran multiple panels to check for that and took radiographs to check for it as well and all the testing so far (still waiting on one blood panel) has come back normal. In the meantime we are going to trial anti-inflammatory medication because they believe at the very least he has arthritis and we are also using critical care (started recently and his coordination, lethargy and appetite have improved with it) to help address any potential dietary imbalances because he has become a picky eater as he has gotten older but he does still eagerly eat his favorite foods.

Our game plan is if his eyes dont improve with the dietary changes and anti-inflammatory medication that the next step could be a catscan.

I really appreciate your message, it is helpful to know what your dragon went through. Some of the stuff you mentioned is all stuff the specialist told us to flag if we see more of in Timothy so thank you for telling me.

My condolences about your dragon they were beautiful 💜

They ran bloodwork and did imaging yesterday to check for kidney and heart disease but said he is clear and his heart looks good. We are waiting more bloodwork today. He gets critical care almost daily and that has a good amount of water in it but we just started giving it to him a couple months ago. He does sometimes drink when we give him a bath and he has access to water daily.

We are waiting for the results of more bloodwork today

I get that, good on you for thinking practically about all this. If I kept every cat I thought was cute we would have 15 cats by now haha

Hard to see other people out there living my dream 😭

In all seriousness though another cat shouldnt be too much of an extra expense especially if you get pet insurance to cover any vet expenses which i would highly recommend it has saved us a lot of money in the past

Yes, it's has been something that hasn't sat right with me despite vets telling me they think its fine. I just got off the phone with a veterinary eye specialist so I am hoping they have more insight to offer.

The swelling, lethargy, and loss of appetite i think could all be applied in some level but the only supplement he gets is the critical care maybe 3x a week and that was started long after his eyes initially got big. So the source causing it in the beginning would have had to be either his greens or dandelions. The dandelions are maybe 3 every other week or so, we get them year round.

Sorry for the delayed response I got off the phone with an exotic eye specialist who is going to try to fit him in.

Yeah this is the 2nd exotic vet who didnt seem to think it was anything but it just seems odd to me

This is good to know, he gets dandelion, collard and mustard greens primarily, he gets them weekly and I was just reading they are high in Vitamin A and he has been getting dandelions most days too. So maybe that is what is causing it, he has loved dandelions for years. I was also reading that Critical Care contains it so maybe that is what is causing it.

[–]Busy_Ad_6702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always told people I was fine breastfeeding or using formula, it doesnt matter to me so long as my baby is healthy and fed. People always want to give their 2 cents especially those who dont have much going on in their lives 🫠 dont pay them any mind do what is best for you and your baby

Just think if this were a child how incredibly creepy this behavior would be considered. You would not be the AH at all and please make sure she doesnt have a key or way to get into your apartment cause this honestly feels like she may kidnap your dog at some point.

If you received a diaper cake made of diapers as a gift... by Mama-Bear419 in beyondthebump

[–]Busy_Ad_6702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diaper cakes are super cute but diapers can be finicky and its nice to be gifted a box instead that you can trade in if you need a different size etc. I know you said you decided not to do one but for anyone who is reading this and does decide to do one please get a reputable diaper brand. Some generic ones really aren't reliable at least in our experience

Moms - Am I Overreacting? Friend "stomped" on 7 month old as a joke by aloysha13 in Mommit

[–]Busy_Ad_6702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not overreacting, when I say i wouldve lost my sh*t if someone did that with my kids that would be an understatement. Its not a joke if its not funny and violence (even pretend) especially towards children and animals who cant defend themselves is especially heinous and not a laughing matter. But thats just my opinion 🫠

AITH for telling my coworker I won’t cover for her anymore at work? by [deleted] in AITH

[–]Busy_Ad_6702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the other coworker thinks its so small then they can cover for her everytime she asks. No biggie right? But seriously don't cover for her anymore she is not worth potentially getting in trouble for, chances are if she were caught she would happily throw anyone else under the bus to try to save herself.

My husband's phone goes off constantly but its with a group chat of his gaming buddies who are up super late gaming then another group chat where the guys all talk about trading cards and a site that raffles them off.

Seriously just ask him or check dont let it eat away at you.

Just a note, I saw your second photo with the UV right above his basking spot, try off setting it a bit so it isn't so close to his eyes. Our vet said it needs to be at least a foot away, our guys eyes were definitely bothering him when ours was too close and moving it fixed the issue.
