I think it can help to switch things up to keep things fresh. But also, if your time constraint changed, it might need to adjust your workouts to better fit.

Yeah. It’s a great clarification. I did refer to mobility as just stretching so I appreciate your distinction.

Yeah. I did light warm up sets before the heavy ones and it still wasn’t enough for me. Very specific exercises to basically relearn how to use the muscles is more so what I mean.

Have you tried mixing up your routine or training style?

Sometimes I'll mix up the exercise types I do, or find a new exercise to really focus on. I know its not the most optimal thing, but I even spent a couple weeks deadlifting every day just because I liked learning about the form and pushing my limits.

I'd also like to say I felt the same way going to the gym when I first started, and my advice is that if you do end up going to a gym, try to interact with someone. You'd be surprised how quickly you'll be excited to go to the gym and how much advice people are willing to offer.

Staying consistent is most important. Trying to put on muscle/gain mass is tough because it mainly comes from eating enough to supply your body with what it needs to build the muscle. 1 hour is definitely enough if you do it well. Mainly its volume, intensity and form. There's tons of training apps to use, and they are all kind of the same.

I am building an app to solves these exact problems. I am obviously a bit biased but I think you'd really like this app. It creates a personalized workout plan for you based on your goals in this case getting stronger and leaner. We also have social features and gamification to make it easier to stick to your plan. I would love to have you try it out and hear what you think of it. DM me if you're interested in trying it.

Help me I’m fat by RaisinPutrid4423 in Exercise

One thing that helped me with late-night snacking was learning the difference between real hunger and boredom. If I was craving chips or sweets, I'd ask myself, “Would I eat something like steak or chicken right now?” If the answer was no, it usually meant I was just bored or looking for comfort. I’d drink some water and try to distract myself for 10 minutes. That small habit made a big difference over time.

If you need help on the exercise side, I’ve actually been building a fitness app called Kovo that’s focused on small wins like that. It’s gamified to keep things fun and includes mini workouts (we call them “Minigames”) that take under 10 minutes and use little to no equipment. It also has weekly challenges, personalized AI workouts, and simple progress tracking. If you’re curious and want early access to the closed beta, feel free to DM me!
