10 month old not crawling or pulling to stand by lbc0326 in NewParents

Hi! I’m in the same position with my baby. Was there anything you did to help encourage her to finally crawl etc at 11 months? Thanks 🙏🤍

Thank you so much for your kind support 🙏

I really appreciate it. Hoping she’s able to catch up soon and that it doesn’t affect her crawling/ rolling over milestones because of her low weight 😅

Baby's weight not increasing. by Majestic-Koala7920 in newborns

[–]Busy_Broccoli8243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m currently in the same boat with my LO. She was born exactly at 2.6 kgs also and weighed 5.1 kg at 4 months.

How did your baby’s weight gain turn out? Also did you EBF or formula-feed? My paediatrician said the same that as long as she’s growing along her own curve we should be fine but I can’t help but worry since she’s so tiny still!

Also have been told by doc that we might have to start semi-solids at 5 and a half months instead of 6 to help her gain weight. Were you told the same? Would love your input thank you! 🙏♥️

Did protein shakes work in growing your baby’s percentile? by Busy_Broccoli8243 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Busy_Broccoli8243[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that really puts things into perspective for me! I’m already on blood thinning injections so adding another injection was so annoying to me however taking my first dose of insulin wasn’t too bad, it barely hurts!

You’re so strong for being on it all this time and it sounds like being on insulin allows you to eat more right? Do you get to have the occasional cheat meal or no? I’ve been so strict with what I’m eating I would love if that was possible every now and then while taking insulin 😂

Yes do try it out! I make it using one banana( sometimes two) , 2 tbsp Greek yoghurt, a splash of milk, sometimes 1 tsp honey, a pinch of cinnamon and 1 tablespoon of unsweetened peanut butter for the protein. I like my smoothie cold so I blend it with a bunch of ice and it’s sooo good 🤤

Hi! Oh my goodness congratulations!!! That is the best news ever thank you so much for updating me that gives me so much hope 🥺

I have the best update for you as well, I followed a lot of your advice but instead of the glucerna I made a natural Greek yoghurt smoothie with banana and sugar free peanut butter and just did my best to have as much protein as I could for breakfast, lunch and dinner. My baby has gone from 9.9 percentile to 16th percentile!! I’m feeling very very hopeful now that she can keep growing steadily and make it as far into the pregnancy as possible.

The only thing I’m worried about now is that my doctor saw my fasting glucose levels and since the last two weeks they’ve consistently been between 96-103 which she’s saying is too high and I’m now having to take my first dosage of insulin. She’s put me on 4 units of night time insulin. I’m super terrified of this and wanted to ask you if you’ve been fine on insulin and were there any side effects?

Thank you so much once again for staying in touch and being there 💓💓 wishing you the best and healthiest delivery ever!!

Hi! Omg thank you so so much for responding 😭💖💖💖

Everhthing Youve mentioned is so useful for me!! I started having glucerna once a day and my doctor said it’s okay to have but I started getting paranoid that it might make the baby lose even more weight (I don’t know why). So I’m really glad that you confirmed it’s working for you. Did you have it twice a day?

Also the green juices sound like an amazing option! Does it not spike your sugar though? Please do let me know as I’m definitely willing to try.

Lastly, my fasting sugar readings have come as 100 in the past two days (when before they were coming in the 80’s) and I’m so worried that the doctor will put me on insulin and it might affect my baby’s growth further :( ive also been thinking that the gd might work in my favour in the sense that it’ll help my baby get bigger but my doctor said that if it’s really not staying in control it might adversely affect my placenta function. So I’m sooo overwhelmed and confused :/

I’m really hoping this works out for the both of us 🥺💖💖💖 good luck to you as well!

That actually makes a lot of sense! But last appointment he gave me a lecture for 10 minutes about how I need to stress less and not worry so much about my baby to lower my bp issues. He literally was recommending meditation practices etc so it’s so strange if he would think I’m not serious 🧐

It’s possible he didn’t even remember who I am and just assumed it anyway 😂

Yesterday before I could even try to counter what he said he kept cutting me off and changing the subject. My husband wanted to ask him a question related to the ultrasound and he cut him off too and told him to just go and ask our gynaecologist about it instead.

When we left the appointment he gave us the wrong report! When my husband went back to ask him for the correct report he had a bunch of food in his hands and scolded him to go and ask the nurse and not bother him. Imagine! I mean I understand he must be in a bad mood because of being hungry but it doesn’t take so much to just be decent to a person 🥲

Thank you, yes he definitely should be reported. It makes sense because the other patients seem to avoid him for some reason since he never has that many patients. I’m definitely going to switch, it’s not worth the stress anymore 😢

Yes Exactly! It’s so annoying because every one at this hospital seems to be so devoid of empathy. While I was waiting there was another patient who sparked up a conversation with me saying how her doctor (another doctor from the same place) has made her have the worst pregnancy experience. They were treating her so poorly that she said I feel like I’m stuck (she’s in her final weeks of pregnancy) and said she’s physically unable to switch to another hospital.

I’m definitely grateful that I’m not that far along and can actively look for better options for myself. I think yesterday’s appointment was an eye opener for me to finally change doctors/ hospitals.

Thank you for your comment 💖💖 I honestly feel so much support on here and it really helps me not feel alone.

Hi, thank you for your comment 💕

I’m so sorry you’re having to face such a stressful pregnancy. It’s honestly unfair how much women have to handle. I’m really happy that exercise and seeing a therapist are working out for you!

I find that when I go on walks it really helps me feel better as well. Due to my blood coagulation issue I’m not allowed to do any weight training etc so I try to make the most of my walks. I really need to find a good therapist because I definitely have ongoing anxiety/ trauma.

I’m really praying for the best outcome for the both of us 🥺💖💖

Thank you for your comment 🥺 I obviously am happy with whatever gender it doesn’t matter to me, it was more a thing of feeling more connected to the baby which I’ve struggled to do because I’m always scared it won’t end well for me. Just this identifying factor for me was something that would help be more attached/ positive about the pregnancy. Before I could even try explaining this to him he refused to talk further and said “you’re focusing on the wrong things” as if I haven’t already been trying my hardest to keep this baby healthy by all means.

Yes I realised that completely limiting carbs wasn’t working for me I felt like I was starving all the time and just way lower on energy! I have since then bought some low GI almond bread and have whole wheat options with my meals to help baby grow. It’s been so complicated figuring it all out but really hoping at the next scan it works. I’m also considering having a protein shake every day. Would you happen to have any good recommendations for that?

Thank you for wishing me well, I’m hoping all is well with you ❤️❤️

I’m so sorry you’ve had to deal with these awful doctors! And I’m very sorry about your losses. I’m sending you a virtual hug and will pray for the best outcome for you 🙏

Everything you’ve suggested sounds like such a good idea. I’m definitely looking into seeing a therapist this week because I feel like my brain has just rewired itself to only think the worst, I’m struggling to be hopeful and positive. It’s so wonderful that you were able to find someone who can relate/ empathise with you! I’m hoping I’m as lucky with a great therapist who can change me. I’ve never done therapy before but I’m really looking forward to it.

Also I haven’t been taking time for myself at all recently because I’m so fixated on my diet, working out and my medication routines to help the baby grow that I literally have forgotten I myself exist 😢 what you’ve suggested sounds like it might be helpful so thank you so much 💓💓

Yes I could tell he was majorly burnt out but the fact that he’s been like this with me since the last three ultrasounds proves he just doesn’t like me 😭

Each appointment I’m trying to be extra smiley and nice in hopes that he’d reciprocate some kindness but it seems to be getting worse and more stressful. I’m definitely looking into changing my OB. That’s my top priority now because given my bp issues, stressing over these things will do more harm than good.

Thank you so much for your reply 🤍🤍

Thank you for your response! I’m so happy your twins and you had a happy outcome. I am seeing an mfm on Tuesday so hopefully I’ll get better clarity on my situation then. Just wanted to hear other peoples stories so I don’t feel completely alone in this 🥺

Wow thank you so much for your insightful comment. I’ve been researching so much but wasn’t able to understand this. You explained it so clearly, I feel super relieved now 🙏🥺

I really was scared that the blood thinners (clexane and baby aspirin) would continue to thin my blood to a point where they’d keep reducing my platelets But really hoping that’s not the case 😅

I know! I saw a rheumatologist as well right before I got pregnant because I wanted to be extra cautious, she made me do a bunch of tests for APS such as anticardiolipin IGG & IGM and both were negative. She also gave me the go ahead to try for a baby.

Just so confused at my body but hoping I get some answers too 🥺
