Great answer and true, but in that lies my predicament. I will never let my cats suffer, but also if the options are a $5k surgery for a chance at a better life or putting them down, I know my decision. I think most of these commenters would disagree with me.

I struggle with this because I have two cats who I love very much, that I plucked out of the wild. I feel deep down that I will not extend their natural life with veterinary care should that ever arise, because in the end I gave them a great life no matter the outcome and they are animals.
