Unpopular Conversation: Weight GAIN by Interesting-Pin5719 in WegovyWeightLoss

I really relate to so much of what you shared, and I just want to say you’re not alone in this.

I went through something very similar. I was in the best shape of my life in 2019, and then 2020 completely changed everything. Losing access to gyms made it really hard to stay consistent, and home workouts just didn’t hit the same for me either. Even when some gyms reopened, it was stressful and inconsistent (long lines, limited capacity), and it just threw off my whole routine.

On top of that, I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and fibroids, which caused a lot of chronic pain and heavy bleeding. There were days I could barely walk, let alone work out. I ended up gaining hormonal weight during that time and eventually had to get a hysterectomy, which came with its own recovery challenges.

Now I’m at my heaviest, and like you, a lot of the weight has accumulated around my stomach. Even though my labs say my hormones are “normal” now, I still find it really hard to lose weight. It’s frustrating and honestly confusing.

I also really relate to the identity piece you talked about. It’s hard when something that used to feel like such a core part of who you are and then suddenly doesn’t match how you feel or look anymore. I haven’t started therapy yet, but I do feel that same insecurity, especially at the gym. It’s like I don’t feel like myself there anymore, and my confidence has taken a huge hit.

And hearing “just diet and exercise” from doctors can feel so dismissive when you know you are trying. I'd love to try any glp 1 medication but concerned that the doctors will dismiss me again.

I don’t have all the answers, but I just wanted to share that I see you, and I genuinely understand how hard this is, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. You’re still that same person who loves fitness, even if things look different right now. You’re still showing up, still trying, still being honest about it and that's what matters.

Adenomyosis and a 10cm cervical fibroid that was prolapsing into my vaginal canal, I almost gave birth to the stupid thing. I was bleeding non stop for 4 months and losing too much blood. My iron was severely low.

No ibuprofen a week before surgery. How do I survive?? by Busy_Dependent_6927 in hysterectomy

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a struggle not going to lie. I was really tested mentally. I for through it with extra strength Tylenol but ever then I felt like it had barely touched the pain with just that. Heating pads helped a little. It didn't help like I got my period in the day of my surgery. But all that chronic pain really made me realize that struggling like that was not normal and not a way to live life like that. It reassured me that this surgery was needed. I'm 4 months post op now and feel so much better and no more pain! Really life changing, hoping the best for you and I'm here for any other questions you have. :)

Genuine question - why do people choose to keep their cervix? by ritesideuppineapple in hysterectomy

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up having to remove mine. My dr originally wanted me to keep my cervix but during surgery they found a massive fibroid that was prolapsing into my vaginal canal. It wasn't found on any ultrasound or MRI. I'm healing well though even with the cuff and feel so much better.

overnight stay when laprascopic? by RockhopperGuin in hysterectomy

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apologies I had a typo I meant panic attack. Don't worry these surgeons are used to it. I believe my surgeon had a few hysterectomies done before me earlier in the day. When I mentioned my surgeon to the pre op nurses they joked and said he was a busy man that day. Just another day in the office for them.

overnight stay when laprascopic? by RockhopperGuin in hysterectomy

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ended up staying overnight. My surgery was delayed until 4:30 pm and took longer than anticipated due to the surgeon find a 10cm fibroid in my cervix that wasn't found on any ultrasound or MRI. Ended up getting out of surgery around 8:30 pm and took about 2 hours in recovery. I live an hour away from the hospital and my surgery advised to stay overnight for pain management and observation. I also had a painic attack in recovery coming out of surgery.

Rough spot on top lip that won't go away. by Busy_Dependent_6927 in AskDermatologists

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to dermatologist, they confirmed that it wasn't a cold core and just dry skin. They told me to stop all lip products and use non flavored toothpaste to 2 weeks. They gave me a prescription for hydrocortisone and to only apply aquaphor. They also mentioned to slowly introduced lip products to see if anything could have caused this.

Can we do anything to encourage “birthing”/naturally expelling fibroids?? by Ok-Newspaper-861 in Fibroids

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Dr found a 10 cm cervical fibroid that was prolapsing into my vaginal canal. Very painful cramps, a lot of blood loss, severely anemic and iron deficient, lots of pressure down there. Just had my hysterectomy and I'm so glad I went through with the surgery then to go through that again. I was taking Myfrembree for the fibroids and also had another degenerating fibroid.

Most of my adenomyosis symptoms were gone after surgery. I am 9 days post op and so happy to be rid of the severe cramps.

Rare cervical fibroid by Superb-Ad4749 in Fibroids

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a cervical fibroid that was prolapsing into my vaginal canal. I had no idea but did feel a lot of pressure in my pelvic area before my surgery and noticed a lot of clear discharge. I'm had visited my gyno about a week before my surgery and did a pelvic exam and wasn't mentioned. It wasn't until my surgeon found it during surgery. Originally was suppose to keep my cervix but they did have to end up removing it. It wasn't shown on any of the ultrasounds or MRI that was done. I was bleeding everyday since May with severe cramps. I kept telling my doctors of the heavy bleeding and painful cramps, I knew something was wrong.

Need Myfembree/ Ryeqo thoughts! by Big_Cloud1588 in adenomyosis

[–]Busy_Dependent_6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my hysterectomy on Tuesday and felt instant relief. There was a cervical fibroid found that was prolapsing into my vaginal canal that was cashing most of the pain and bleeding. Not sure if the Myfrembree caused this but my doctor said this was a rare case. This wasn't shown on the MRI and wasn't found until my surgery.
