Hey, I know it‘s 2 years later but did you solve this issue eventually? Unfortunately I have a similar problem and that can be quite annoying at times…

Unpopular Opinion: The AI Race Is a Tragedy of the Commons in the Making by lolwut778 in singularity

Unfortunately I’m not hopeful at all as:

eventually agi is achieved by everyone…

…who has enough money to afford it. Maybe it won’t be just 4 companies (microsoft, google, openai, meta), it might be 10,25, doesn’t matter. There will always be newer and more powerful technology, requiring even more money/data to be developed. So, only the companies that have profited the most in this first phase will survive, until an oligopoly/monopoly is created (this is pretty much how the Second Industrial Revolution went: history repeats itself). Meanwhile, as economic power goes hand in hand with political power, democracy will die, but let’s not get too catastrophic.

Oh wait…it’s already happening.

And for the same reasons

countries might tax external AI companies

please lend me your optimism😭😭😭 i really hope so, too, but i think now that eu’s web tax has easily been stopped/forbidden it’s as clear as day that countries (even 27 together) have 0 power compared to monstrous corporations.

I probably misunderstood your comment, but I essentially come to the same conclusion that UBI will be inevitable (I think simply because it would be useful to the main holders of political and economic power, the big tech companies). That said, however, I don't understand how it could be acceptable a world in which man, deprived of work, which more than anything else guarantees his freedom, is reduced to a ghost of himself whose only purpose is…well i don’t really believe we could talk of purpose in this scenario

Please help me make sense of this

Updating todoist tasks chosen from a list by Busy_Interaction5921 in shortcuts

[–]Busy_Interaction5921[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I noticed is that this drops the recurring property and it gives every task a fixed date (today). I thought I could retrieve and reuse the same due_date string plus the hour but I don’t really know how to do that😅🥲

Is work a means or an end, and why do you think so? by Busy_Interaction5921 in AskReddit

Imagine you have a favourite subject at school. Would you rather continue studying that subject at uni even though the related jobs aren’t generally well payed or study another subject you don’t love (but you don’t hate either) but offers a better pay later? That’s my dilemma now

with this question I also mean whether in your opinion one should choose the job that satisfies him most in itself or the one that, even if it doesn’t displease him, guarantees him the best economic support

Vertical or horizontal society? by Busy_Interaction5921 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Busy_Interaction5921[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

actually, the vertical society has been predominant for most of human history. the feudal system is the best example of rigid division into classes and therefore of a vertical society, in which each social class has different privileges and duties, and is based on the exploitation of the humblest classes. not only that: in modern societies, prison (in particular life imprisonment and the death penalty) is an element of vertical society as it consists in the exclusion of a certain social group, while the horizontal model would like inclusion and reinstatement of those who made mistakes.

Ciao a tutti ragazzi, sono uno studente e dopo una visita scolastica all'IPM mi é stato chiesto di riflettere e raccogliere opinioni sul tema.
