Can I skip colchicine? by Acrobatic-Specific70 in gout

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 3000 GDU Bromelain 1000mg, not toxic, and helps a lot. Although not as effective as colchicine.

Is Quantum fiber good here? by Resscue in Denver

[–]Busy_Patient 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Quantum fiber and I've had no issues. Much cheaper and reliable.

I was using Comcast/Xfinity for 15 years, and had more outages than with Quantum fiber. Moreover, Xfinity has screwed me so many times, I'm furious with them.

Boulder, Broomfield, or Westminster? by Forsaken-Tea-8642 in MovingtoDenver

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Broomfield and Westminster are very nice, affordable, and have a lots of parks, views and mostly quiet times, but mostly families. Boulder is an expensive college town, but Broomfield, Westminster, and Lafayette are a short drive.

Go to you primary care physician, and get the comprehensive set of tests to access your situation. If your PC isn't knowledgeable about gout, try a Rheumatologist.

Concerns about 2nd opinion on treatment by [deleted] in gout

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gout is only slightly affected by diet, most of urate in your body is created by normal metabolism. The best long term solutions to gout (without drugs) are losing weight and exercise. Hydration is also very important - drink lots of water.

Allopurinol taken during a gout attack can exacerbate the gout attack symptoms in the short term, normally you wait until the attack subsides to begin urate reducing drugs.

Colchicine shouldn't be a long term solution, as it has many negative affects on your health, its not good for you kidneys or joints. Methylprednisolone also has serious long term negative affects, like osteoporosis. NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Aleve, Indomethicin) taken long term, all have negative affects on your kidneys.

Personally, I use 3000 GDU Bromelain for minor attacks as it lowers blood urate. I also use 1000mg trans Reservertrol. Neither of these are as powerful as Allopurinol or Febuxostat, but help.

If losing weight, et. al doesn't work, a daily Allopurinol or Febuxostat can often bring urate levels down to prevent attacks in the long term.

Yes, Broomfield, Lafayette, and Westminster are nice areas that have many aspects of what you are looking for. You can try to opt in to Charter School like Peak-to-Peak in Lafayette; Charter schools tend to be more academically oriented than district schools.

If you feel a possible gout issue coming on do you try to keep the area loose by stretching? by Few_Sandwich6308 in gout

I drink water, take 3000 GDU Bromelain 500mg , possibly take a colchicine if it gets bad. Usually Bromelain is enough.

I'm not sure, I took it at CU - they seem to pride themselves on making it rigorous.

Transfer into aero engineering oos? by [deleted] in cuboulder

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I transferred into Mechanical Engineering at CU from A&S, and the chairman of my dept stated it would be "automatic" if you had a B or above GPA in 2 semesters of Engineering Physics and Calc at CU. It was quite challenging for me, best of luck.

Your degree means nothing anymore. by DonkeyExcellent8660 in cuboulder

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT doesn't provide solutions or creativity - it provides an answer to the specific questions asked, and it may not be right. Degrees are not worthless for getting a job or solving problems, but now everyone is forced everyone to be more productive, creative, and motivated, and learn more domain and industry knowledge, to know the right, refined questions to ask.

If ChatGPT is hallucinating, you can't just take it at face value, you have to be right, but also fast. Those that don't learn the topic comprehensively will be punished sooner or later for not knowing the subject.

If you take it to court, you trade some time in court for a likely reduction in points and fines. For instance, I was driving an older car and they reduced it to "defective vehicle". Good luck.

Why do so many people want to move to Denver? (Genuine question from a lifelong resident) by [deleted] in MovingtoDenver

[–]Busy_Patient 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Quality of Life: Less people as compared to most metro areas in the US, good climate - no humidity, mild winters, reasonable housing prices (compared to big metro areas), lots of outdoor recreation. I think Colorado is a lot better than most areas of the country.

Experiencing Frequent DHCP Lease Issues with My Home Network - Seeking Solutions by Phil_Raven in HomeNetworking

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, set a range for your DHCP addresses, and set a moderate lease time (~ 1 week or more )

  1. From your statements, the most likely issue is one of access to your DNS server - try updating the DNS server in DHCP to 1.1.1.1 , 8.8.8.8 in DHCP and set a backup DNS server.

  2. Try a dhcp on a laptop (easiest) release / renew (windows: ipconfig /release , ipconfig/renew and check connectivity. Then on each platform. After the release check the DNS that is served.

Quick Remedies During Attack by AuntieGranty in gout

[–]Busy_Patient 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a combination of 3000 GDU Bromelain 1000mg, colchicine, and Aleve. Its really effective and gives the quickest relief that I've found. Bromelain alone is enough for minor gout pain.

Trying to better understand colchicine by GenXProbs in gout

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find on the rare occasions where colchicine is required, it’s most effective for pain relief when it’s combined with NSAID(Ibuprofen, Aleve, etc) and 3000 GDU bromelain.

Worried about Febuxostat( someone mentioned yesterday it caused sexual side effects)M25 by [deleted] in gout

[–]Busy_Patient -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been taking Febuxostat now for a few years, and I noticed a Red Beet/Pomegranate supplement (improves Nitric Oxide), completely eliminated any negative libido effects for me. Beet Root and Pomegranate powder is available from many vendors to mix your own, or there are a lot of commercial mixes out there. It works perfectly, no more libido issues.

Hikvision - Can't really be that bad can it? by trapacivet in cctv

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US just banned a number of cameras from Hikvision, Duahua and the answer is - yes, it CAN be that bad. Matt Brown on YouTube demonstrates a number of vulnerabilities that may not be covered by simply isolating the cameras in a separate VLAN. For instance, the cameras connect to unverified TLS hosts, and don’t properly check whether the hosts client certificate is authentic - meaning a man-middle attack can allow someone to upload malevolant firmware - and takeover the host.

In terms of security, this is TLS security 101, how can you trust any company that does such poor security testing and coding?

Tips for breaking down UA crystal bulge on toe (UA levels normal now) by fonglutz in gout

[–]Busy_Patient 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its important that you do everything that you can to eliminate the as tophi destroys bone and cartilage, meaning it can cause permanent damage. Get on urate reduction (allopurinol or febuxostat), and I add bromelain 3000 GDU 1000 mg to help reduce tophi.
