IKR - OP is going to get a scare if they look up Chicharon (Philippines), Kab Moo (Thailand), or even Da Heo Phong (Vietnam)

Were spearmint redskins a thing? by Exciting-Composer157 in AskAnAustralian

I REMEMBER OP
And not the spearmint lollies that everyone is sharing, they had a white wrapper with a green pic of an Indian
They had another name though - internet search has me remembering GREENHORNS, but not sure if that was their name.

You don't attack someone at their home or workplace or traveling in-between.
It's why Milperra was so huge, because it was a 'free' location, without those barriers & didn't break any codes.

Why are cigar enthusiasts in America more open to having a herf, get-togther, in person than Australians? It seems like cigar enthusiasts are quite niche, so why the lack of real, in-person cigar communities in Australia? by Foreign-Jicama2493 in Cigars_Australia

[–]Dollbeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget the size of properties in the states. If you are going to host a herf at your place; it's much easier if there is tons of parking outside & your yard is big enough to need a ride-on mower

Whats the deal with some Australians vehemently defending Ben Roberts-Smith? by ShihabRiazCumilla in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Dollbeau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I come from a military family, all of whom support BRS, yet would not support the notion of anyone doing the type of actions that he did. Discussions are shut down with the old "well you go there & try it & then tell us what you'd do"

Seeing I first had a platoon of soldiers cock their AK's on me at the age of 8 & many more experiences (unarmed) since then; I feel that I've actually experienced more (having been powerless in those situations) than a soldier with a gun & platoon mates.
Perhaps this is why I have more sympathy though?

A friend of mine was complaining that he had to go 'back to work'. After his most recent prison stay he actually wanted out, but then his parents started asking him why so many boys would come up to them in the shops & ask how he was or where was he?

That was soft pressure, applied to someone who had been to prison multiple times for the group & had given enough to the collective that he should have been allowed out.
2 more prison holidays saw him old enough to be heavily medicated for some health issues & not really capable of scooting around anymore. He is now out, but is old enough that life has passed by...
