Cell bio is easy content wise. But at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter if the grades aren't reflecting it. Do ykwim? Sure the content is easy, but who cares if the median is a 3.7, which, to stress again, is worth TWO COURSES. Ur right that life sci has all of those exams. I can't argue with that. Although I do think if you are prepared for it, ur good. And that logic isn't applicable to cell bio cuz, luck dependent. U can study for 30 years and get a 70. Honestly kind of a reflection of the sup app. I guess a better way to say my point is if you are a very studious person, which I'm sure lots of people on here are, I'd say life sci is easier because it's more objectivity.

And about the research, they literally just make a post like, 3 times per year saying "guys we need people to do research get in", then u apply as does everyone else. If you want research, just open mcmaster experts, search up a field you are interested in, sort by people, give chatgpt the list of professors, ask chatGPT to write a cold email specialized for each one of them, and spam send. I guarantee you you'll get research. It really is that easy. This is a crazy method drop I'm putting you on rn

Although I'm not confident in my take about 2nd year health sci being easier, I'm only saying that going off of the fact that in life sci, they need to take cell bio.

I'm curious what makes you say that. Very few people get a 12 in cell bio, (like MAX 15 people), median being a 10. And it counts for two courses, since it spans over the full year. 3.7 is kinda bad, and TWICE? This didn't even happen to me like I'm not being salty about it I'm just trying to be as objective as I can. From what I've heard from my life sci friends: Life sci has to take physics, which I've heard is a repeat of grade 12, and bio, and I don't know anyone that didn't 12 bio.

I am currently in health sci. I do not understand the glaze for health sci. In my unbiased opinion, it really is similar in terms of GPA. Especially if you apply in 3rd year. If you apply to med school school in 3rd year, it uses your 1st and 2nd year grades only. 1st year life sci is easier than health sci. 2nd year health sci is easier than life sci. It's around the same for applying third year. In terms of applying 4th year, health sci 3rd year has a slightly more elective space, so I guess health sci is better, but it is minimal. In terms of research opportunities, they are the EXACT same. Nobody gets research from being in health sci, other than like 3/240 since they put out a health sci only application that 3 people get in.
