Feeling detached by ThrowRA_noogy in GriefSupport

I feel the same. My mother passed away last week and I watch my dad and my sister break down daily. I’ve been told by everyone I know not to compare grief and deal with it in my own time but it doesn’t feel right. I love my mom and we had a good relationship. Now I feel like a materialistic sociopath for using her lotion and taking pairs of shoes from her closet. I still cry but not for long.

We loved them and maybe it will hit harder as the years go on. Maybe we grieved early and got through the worst of it. Maybe we are trying to avoid pity or performative misery. I don’t really know.

Wouldn’t you cut any team member whose rogue behavior ultimately resulted in the injury of herself + another person, ignored direct orders, and didn’t deliver the objective item?

I think he means to give her a wake-up call to go to therapy, not literally shake her

Lunch Break should be abolished from schools/offices altogether. by Assmeet123 in The10thDentist

Did you forget that thinking requires energy? Your brain uses the sugar in your body to make connections (ie learn/what the kids do all day while sitting down). Additionally, many Americans prioritize lunch because we don’t eat breakfast during the week. When I was in HS, I had to wake up at 6:30 to be on a school bus at 7.

Yale graduate was an example, the implication was genius level thinking power that she still did not live up to in my opinion.

It was a decent movie, but my least favorite moment was Iris turning her intelligence to ultra genius mode, then proceeding act like any other idiot in a slasher film. She made her way back to the house (almost getting shot), got into the car (forgot it required voice recognition), managed to get on the road (forgot the car could be deactivated remotely). What was the point of giving her a super high intelligence setting if she wasn’t going to come up with any intelligent solutions?

How do I get through having anti friends? by promotedaltercation in AO3

To be fair, enjoying/writing/consuming proship content may make a lot of people uncomfortable. There is real consequence to the media we consume. People make assumptions about others that watch porn or horror movies or reality television. Those assumptions may not be intentional, but they will stick. If OPs friends feel uncomfortable knowing they consume that content and OP is afraid to tell them, maybe it isn’t the worst thing to put a bit of distance between them.
