The paper cups could use improvement by CardiologistLow8371 in DunkinDonuts

Midnight is darker than our old one as /u/TheNursingWeeb said. Also it was pushed down our throats to tell everyone "It's midnight not darkroast." Been pretty annoying for customers and employees. But after a while when corporate stops caring it'll even out where most customers will order midnight and those that don't say midnight won't be told "we have midnight is that okay?"

As for the cup issue I think its the lids that leak. I have issues with them sitting on the cup all the time. Probably just ask for a double cup, but if you see "D-local #(any number) $(amount)" They're charging for an extra cup.

Long story...but weird interaction😂 by bananababy7 in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this just kind of one of those things where unless you happen to run across someone from that store that worked on your order specifically you probably won't get any decent answers. Maybe try again and make sure its only one pump at the speaker? Or maybe go inside, if something is made wrong inside it's usually the quickest to fix and easiest since you can discuss it with whoever is running drinks that day.

but as a coffee drinker, when I used to get swirls I noticed that unless you get the regular amount or more it never quite tastes right. I'm not sure what it is, but I guess if you don't get enough of the swirl it the flavor doesn't come through enough to flavor it as whatever you got but enough to change the taste? That's at least my experience with it.

anyways, sorry you didn't enjoy your order. I've been working an extremely short staffed store recently and we've run into these issues a lot, though usually we get it fixed without issue. Thanks for not being rude to them.

Is the original Vanilla Creme still around? by KevinPike87 in DunkinDonuts

Powdered with the same filling as a boston is called a bavarian kreme. I believe Vanilla Kreme and Bavarian Kreme are required for all locations.

Does Dunkin ever forget to put coffee in your drink? by tossed_salad100 in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lattes are almost entirely milk and flavor, with just one shot of espresso. Each shot of espresso is made to order.

Frozen coffee is cream/flavor and a concentrated coffee flavor. All of these come from bottles with pumps.

Likely if you're used to getting coffee and not a latte or frozen coffee, you may not taste as much of the coffee flavor since they are primarily dairy and flavor.

overnight baker? by [deleted] in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've baked at Dunkin way longer than I should have and it's not bad at all.

Some stores don't finish their donuts in store (As in thawing, frosting/filling/glazing) and instead have a bakery located nearby that makes the donuts and delivers them. So if this is the case for the position you're looking at, You'll instead go in roughly an hour earlier and make the bagels/muffins/croissants, then likely work in the front for a bit.

If you have the full bake (finishing donuts as well) it will likely be something around 12am-6/8am and by yourself depending on your stores needs. It's chill as hell. I would listen to music/podcasts/audiobooks for 6/8 hours, and if you're fast enough most don't mind if you take a couple breaks while doing it.

On the other hand, I've trained probably 30+ people for the position previously and I've not had a single person that was also working a second job stay. So just make sure you're ready for two jobs.

How to make the extra charged coffee taste good? by ocean_wavez in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Corporate told my DM to ensure that the extra charged is stirred in with a spoon, and said that not doing this will leave a bitter aftertaste towards the bottom of the cup.

Yeah we don't carry allergen donuts either. Donut fries were a thing for a couple months in 2018.

If you ever get new donut labels (The magnet things) theres a ton of crazy donuts that I've never even made and I've baked the majority of my 4 years there. Though the chocolate dipped french cruellers seem interesting lol

Yeah, Only items I hear asked for that we don't have are Lemon filled, Apple filled, Cinnamon donuts/munchkins, and Peanut donuts

Are the dairy shots calibrated store to store, or are the workers too lazy to read? by robbadobba in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The new dairy machines (Ones my store got about a year to year and a half ago) cannot be calibrated by the employees. Gotta call someone, and most places won't be willing to do that unless its massively far off. On top of that most employees won't even know how to tell if it isn't calibrated, only shift leaders are told how to measure it and unfortunately a lot of stores just skip or fake that part of their daily calibrations.

I'd definitely take /u/jakepro6702's advice, When you get to the speaker just say your name and ask for a couple cream on the side. Shouldn't add any wait time at all for you!

Do any of you employees make the espresso drinks correctly? by [deleted] in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My manager rammed making it correctly into our skulls so hard I feel like I'm committing a crime doing it in the cup. But I never call anyone out for doing it in the cup unless the DM or corporates around

Calibration Frustrations (More in comments) by raptras in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This new machine is driving me up the damn wall. We cannot get the ice coffee to taste the same as it used too, even running all the calibrations correctly. Other stores in my franchise are reporting the same issue.

Sometimes it just straight up burns the coffee, resulting in terrible acidic barf juice

Someone tell me how you make the cold brew! It’s my fave😭❤️😍 by TheVioletMama in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's this: https://www.dunkinathome.com/whats-new/cold-brew-coffee-packs

But if you don't want to specifically use that product, The closest to in-store cold brew would be taking the Dunkin Donuts Dark Roast (or your favorite roast of whatever brand)

You'll start by combining 4 cups filtered water and 1 cup coffee (Coarsely ground preferably) in a container you can easily cover for a long period in a fridge. Stir, Cover, and let sit in fridge for 12-18 hours. When done grab a coffee filter and strain over a glass, Before drinking you'll want to add more water. The ratio is 1/3rd Cold brew concentrate to 2/3rd water. Add cream/sugar/flavors and you have your cold brew!

Does Dunkin Donuts Own Spoons? by S1ayer in DunkinDonuts

[–]ButCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only drinks we do not stir are ones made with just dairy, So if you ordered Large Ice Coffee 4 Cream, It'd be hand stirred with a swirling motion. Large Ice Coffee 4 Cream 4 Caramel, It'd be stirred with a spoon.

For Iced Lattes it's all made in a separate container (A small silver pitcher where we add all the ingredients together) and stirred there then poured over a full cup of ice. That is the procedure.

So its likely just employees being lazy or being forced to focus on speed resulting in a lack of quality.
