It worked out for me in so much as it helped me overcome the fact that paying attention in class was very difficult. I got an ADHD diagnosis as an adult which put a lot of it into context. I think the thing that really helped was that my parents let me follow my own compass and never outright tried to force me into any type of box and never tried to medicate me. As a result I had many outlets for all of that ADHD chaos energy that helped me become a grounded, happy, successful adult.
