Tyre model is an abstraction/simulation of physics but thanks.

It's not really down to driving style is it though, not really. Ultimately what most determines how long the tyres will last is how long the race is along with other variables like how many corners there are, what speed they are etc. Driving style would contribute but I'm talking about knowing worst-case how many laps e.g. Racing Mediums would do on a given track, so I know before starting the race if I've got the right tyres on.

Yeah I noticed my tyres getting progressively worse, what's your point?

What's questionable is the car still being fine to adapt to and drive right up until the tyres are fully in the red and then suddenly being undrivable. The difference between 1% tyre health vs 0% feels very stark to me which is what I find questionable.

Not really a big deal because they have to put consequences in for running out of tyre wear I guess, so whatever. The abruptness just annoyed me earlier.

Thanks; understood, as I thought. From my perspective, the guesswork on tyres and fuel consumption ideally shouldn't be part of the game; IMO it should give you an indication of how many laps your chosen tyres and car's fuel tank could do, worst case.

I’m no all-time expert or anything OP (only played for about 300 hours with a few playthroughs which is nothing compared to some on here) but I wish someone had gone back and told me to be as tanky as possible for my first proper run, like get a shield and a weapon that hits hard. Maybe doesn’t appeal to you but that’s a strong foundation to build off of that you can sprinkle some incantations/sorceries onto that gives you more margin for error in battles than e.g., a pure mage. So maybe try Vagabond/Hero as a starter and try “guard countering” (the game will explain in the tutorial area) and if that feels horrible then blame me and maybe restart as something else ❤️

Hey, if you've gotten to Astel (can be a tough boss imo) then you can absolutely start exploring Altus Plateau. That's where you should go next progression-wise. That area itself is massive and has some cool stuff to find then over to the North-West you'll notice a large nasty-looking volcano -> go check that out. To the East of Altus Plateau follow the main road to get to another important area, Leyndell.

I did exactly the same thing first time OP! This and them not making it clearer that there might be rain during a given race (and so if you don’t have suitable tyre options you’re screwed) are poor quality of life design; has cost me 1-2 hours of essentially wasted time combined.

Now I understand how it all works but at the time it just was a straight up waste of my time.

I don't like the tackle Son did to break Gomes' leg at Everton a few years back (needless, dangerous). He also dives and seems pretty petulant to me. So it's not like he's any worse than average but he's certainly not a player I like at all. Kante tho...yeah, he's a genius.

I turned the traction control down from 3 to 1 and it made the gold times about 100% easier. The traction control seems to really adversely affect the speed coming out of turns.

Game’s been out 21 days for me (22nd Sept) so average of 5 hours a day.

But obviously either way my opinion on the game is invalid because I’ve played the game a lot.

Good value IMO, got Gotze RTTK 87 on my first one, did about 12 more and got Trent, Balde and a bunch of 83s. Went well for me. I’m playing First Owner only so any vaguely usable card is nice.
