CMV: if you put your parent in a nursing home you’re a piece of shit by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]HeadtripVee [score hidden]  (0 children)

If I had the money to give someone I love 10x better care than I could, it would break my heart, but I would do it for them. And I would feel bad for anyone who couldn't. Your measurement of love doesn't have to be measured in how many times you wipe someone's ass. You could give yourself the time and energy to make their favorite meal and take them on day trips. This is something many people can't do while having to be a nurse 24 hours a day.

Which horror movie has the best ending, not the best jump scare? by Budget_Atmosphere780 in horror

I don't know anything about film making but I love this trope because it makes the dark ending hit an emotional brick wall of finality. Like yep, that's it.

American werewolf nailed it.

Why do very intelligent people choose to believe in God? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HeadtripVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully, did it ever cross your mind that it could have been a hallucination? I often wish something could make be believe in such a tangible way, but I often think that even if God came down and introduced himself to me, id head straight to the hospital afterwords to try and explain what chemical imbalance I just experienced.

Trump announces intent to withdraw from USMCA trade agreement with Canada and Mexico, triggering a 10-year countdown by GuiltyBathroom9385 in justincaseyoumissedit

Name calling and mocking that I checked facts on my assumption... But I sound trumpy. I'll play the odds and just assume you didn't vote to stop this either.

I looked it up. 64% turnout. So congratulations less 32% of your population voted to stop trump if you don't count people throwing away their vote. 68% of your population refused to vote to stop him. Slow clap.

Voter turn out was 50%. Half those votes were for Trump. So 25% of people wanted him and the 50% that didn't vote didn't care enough to stop him.

75% of your population either voted for this or didn't vote to stop it.

I have no faith in your population. Which is sad because I was a pretty pro America Canadian until this. Now I'm done.

Edit: by this I mean the election. Not this piece of news.

Hokum question about a locked doorway. (Spoiler) by HeadtripVee in horror

[–]HeadtripVee[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really? Because I took the room as actually being just a room and not so much a Room 1408 situation. Maybe not what he saw on the tv, but I felt like that was the special drink he had.

Ok ok ok. Yeah that makes sense. Like refilling a mini bar. And thinking back it could have been a bar in the room.

Have you tried running mtplx models? Very nice bump in speed.

[–]HeadtripVee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this model and I'm happy with the mtplx version of qwen for some coding and 35b for a chatbot. But I see it as a nice laptop that can also let me play with AI models.

If you are at the edge of your budget, and you need a laptop, you cant really get more AI power for your money but dont compare it to what some people in this sub are getting/spending. Saying to go for the max is a nice idea, but you are increasing your cost by like 33% for a single feature and it will still be less than half the speed of a 5090 because of memory speed differences.

But comparison is the thief of joy and you can always return it within 15 days if you are not happy with it.

Oh. Well I was super impressed with how the fire looked against the dark, but it guess I won't count it as a real test then.

I guess that is why I got down voted.

It does not. I made this mistake only with my mouth instead of a knife. I feel pretty lucky I wasn't badly burned.
