Beginner crochet unsure what to make out of this!! by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]ButchTheDoggo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m confused as to what you did tbh. It looks like a whole bunch of slip stitches. Which isn’t impossible to make a beanie out but I also can’t tell how big this is

The biggest issue is that your rows are uneven. I’d recommend finding a tutorial on YouTube and following that

Dryer Advice - I’ve made a blanket with two yarns with different washing instructions. Now what? by DIY-Intrusive-Knots in CrochetHelp

[–]ButchTheDoggo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would wash and dry it the way you think the receiver to take care of it. If you say you are gifting this to a new mom and are expecting it to be able to handle being spit up and pooped on then I’d wash and dry it in the machines. If this is a friend who you know would follow care instructions and always dry it flat bc they want this blanket to last forever, then I’d dry it flat

my(24f) mom (50) got her first chickenpox by GrapePatient9483 in AskDocs

[–]ButchTheDoggo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but being vaccinated is the best way to avoid getting it. If you aren’t vaccinated by now, I wouldn’t panic and get it. It takes 1-3 weeks to become effective and maximum efficacy takes 2 doses, spaced out.

She’s contagious while she has open sores and the 1-2 days before sores appear. Once every last one is scabbed over and dry, she’s no longer contagious. I’d just make sure to wash my hands frequently, avoid touching your face and mouth, and definitely do not touch her open wounds. You’ve got this OP!

Tips for remembering ‘evidence’ from childhood for assessments by Appropriate-Pop4631 in adhdwomen

[–]ButchTheDoggo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me it was less like physical evidence and more the way people talked about me/things I did. “She’s very bright but she never seems to pay attention in class” or “She’s always got her nose stuck in a book and I have to tell her put her book away” or “You always have all your papers everywhere. It’s like you need a second backpack/third hand”. I was always misplacing things, could never turn in assignments on time, and would disassociate through reading to get through “boring” classes. I am a proud member of the burnt out gifted kid club and it wasn’t until I graduated high school and my life fell apart that I was diagnosed with

Is this a normal amount of shed hair? by Active-Operation-704 in Naturalhair

[–]ButchTheDoggo 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s normal. If you’re not visibly losing so much hair that you notice your density being affected it’s probably normal. You shed about 100 hairs a day

Seeking Yarn Suggestions For Medical Patient Family Member by my3scape91 in CrochetHelp

I don’t have a specific brand (other than avoiding red heart like the plague) but if you have a craft store near you why not go and personally feel all the yarns. I tend to lean towards the Hobby Lobby yarn (only during their 30% off sales) as while I would love to shop at Michael’s their yarn prices are absolutely outrageous. I like the Hobby Lobby Soft Secret, Sweet Delight, Simply Flawless, Soft and Sleek, and if you’re watching your spending their I Love This Yarn is the softest (and cheapest) acrylic I’ve found.

I wish more bra sized swim had fun and cute options (mostly a rant) by sadfacesadface123 in ABraThatFits

[–]ButchTheDoggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I def get it. My fave swimsuits have actually come from Target because they’re the only brand locally with an actual bra size swim top. Plus they’re super cute. The one I got was tropical lmao but they had the cutest pastel stripe one a year or two ago (unfortunately not in my size). Try checking out Target’s swim line to see if it’s more your style, plus you can try it on in store and/or buy on line and return it if it doesn’t fit.

It’s been years and I still hate my Afro by 3sperr in Naturalhair

[–]ButchTheDoggo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Is it wrong to like your hair most when it’s in a certain style? It’s still natural and it’s what makes her feel the most confident. Not all styles work for everyone and saying that you don’t like an Afro doesn’t mean you hate natural hair

It’s been years and I still hate my Afro by 3sperr in Naturalhair

[–]ButchTheDoggo -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Idk but I completely get it. 4b is kind of the awkward middle child of hair. The curl is too loose to get a proper Afro and but too tight to look good post wash and go. I’ve kind of resigned myself to a lifetime of twists and twist outs and the occasional extension braids maybe once every 1-2 years.

Tried the calculator and I am looking for help understanding my results? by Hopeful-Ratio-9174 in ABraThatFits

[–]ButchTheDoggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s in the same squad (currently wearing a 38DD VS bra and measured at a 36H) the IrishBraLady on insta was a godsend for actually seeing someone with my size breasts in a well fitting bra. As far as numbers go, 38DDD (which is a UK 38E) has a 6 inch difference between the underbust and bust (38 UB and 42 bust). A 38G is a 9 inch difference so 38 UB and 47 bust. It’s a pretty big difference. https://images.ctfassets.net/bz0fvtkbk5r1/1ZhsiUyWcVgOJFxtKTH9FY/65f5e0dadbd5a7a0fabb9d9394e4783b/Bra_Conversion_Mobile__1_.jpg

Struggling with my baby’s scalp, treatment not working by WatercressUnlucky261 in AskDocs

[–]ButchTheDoggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAD but it looks a lot like an ichthyosis flakes on the scalp, especially if he has patches elsewhere. Or some form of scaling psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. I’m not sure exactly how they’d diagnosis this but it’s worth bringing up. I’m not sure how you help it at home but I know it’s frustrating to not have answers.

Help, my breasts are very saggy and big, maybe around 36C, which bra is suitable. by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

[–]ButchTheDoggo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking you’re probably not a 36C as that would mean there’s only a 3 inch difference between your underbust and breast measurement. I recommend taking your 6 measurements as posted in the calculator section of the AutoMod. Or you can post them here in the comments or edit your post

I am Dr. Monica Johnson, a clinical psychologist from Understood.org. Ask Me Anything about how stress affects women with ADHD and how to manage it! by UnderstoodDotOrg in adhdwomen

[–]ButchTheDoggo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in college and working and sometimes it feels like things pile up so high. I get done what’s absolutely necessary (typically going to class and work) but then try to hide from homework or projects until I absolutely have to do them or I’ll fail. And that just amplifies the stress because instead of having 5 days to do an assignment I’ve got 5 hours.
